What is Globalization?
 Globalization means the acceleration of movements and exchanges (of human beings,
commodities and services, money, technology or cultural practices) all over the world.
 One of the implications of globalization is that it facilitates and strengthens relations
between diverse regions and cultures across the globe.
 Increased interdependence and interconnectedness between cultures and nations.
 It is widely understood to include two interrelated elements: the opening up of
international boundaries to rapidly accelerated movements of goods, resources, finance,
ideas and people; and improvements in structures and policies at national and
international level that encourage or foster such movements.
How Globalization affect the Social dimensions?
 The social dimension of globalization refers to the impact of globalization on the life and
work of people, on their families, and their societies. Concerns and issues are often
raised about the impact of globalization on employment, working conditions, income and
social protection. Beyond the world of work, the social dimension encompasses security,
culture and identity, inclusion or exclusion and the cohesiveness of families and
communities.
What is localization?
 It is the process of modifying a commodity or service to a certain area or sector.
