Isaiah 7 Hebrew
1. And it happened, In the days of
Ahaz, son of Jotham, son of Uziah
king of Judah, Rezin king of Aram
and Pekah son of Remaliah, king of
Israel, went up to Jerusalem to wage
war against it and was not able to
besiege it.
2. It was announced to the house of
David, saying, Aram is in agreement
with Ephraim. His heart and the
heart of the people shook as trees of
the forest shake before the wind.
3. The Lord said to Isaiah, Go out to
meet Ahaz, you and Shear-Jashub,
your son, to the end of the conduit
of the upper pool to the highway of
the field of washer’s.
4. And you will say to him, Be careful
and be quiet. Do not fear and do
not let your heart be weak from
these two stumps of smoking
firebrands, the fierce anger of Rezin
and Aram and the son of Remaliah.
5. Because Aram, Ephraim, and the son
of Remaliah have advised evil againt
you, saying:
6. Let us go up against Judah and let us
terrify it and let us break it for
ourselves, and we will cause the son
of Tabeel to be king in the midst of
it.
7. Thus says the Lord YHWH, it will not
arise and it will not happen.
8. For the head of Aram is Damascus
and the head of Damascus is Rezin
and in sixty five years Ephraim will
be shattered from being a people.
9. The head of Ephraim is Samaria and
the head of Samaria is the son of
Remaliah, if you wil not stand firm
then you will not be made firm.
LXX
1. And it happened, in the days of Ahaz
son of Jotham, son of Oziah, king of
Judah, Rezin king of Aram and
Romeliah King of Israel went up
against Jerusalm to fight it and was
not able to besiege it.
2. It was announced to the house of
David, saying, Aram is in agreement
with Ephraim, and his soul was
confused, and the soul of his people,
as when in the forest a tree is
shaken by the wind.
3. And the Lord said to Isaiah, go out
to meet Ahaz, you and the forsaken
one, your son Jashub, at the pool on
the upper road of the field of the
cloth refiner.
4. And he said to him, Be on guard to
remain quiet and do not fear nor let
your soul be weak from these two
smoking wood logs, for when the
fury of my wrath comes, I will heal
again.
5. And the son of Aram and the son of
Romeliah, because they counciled
an evil plan concerning you, saying:
6. We will go up to Judah and after
talking with them, we will turn them
to us and we will make the son of
Tabeel king over it.
7. Thus says the Lord of the armies-
This plan might not continue nor will
it be.
8. But the head of Aram is Damascus
but yet in sixty-five years the
kingdom of Ephraim will no longer
exist from the people.
9. The head of Ephraim is Samaria and
the head of Samaria is the son of
Remaliah and if you do not believe,
neither will you understand.

10. And again the Lord spoke to Ahaz,
saying:
11. Ask for yourself a sign from the Lord
your God, request it in the deep or
in the height above.
12. And Ahaz said, I will not ask and I
will not test the Lord.
13. And he said, Hear, house o David, Is
is a small thing for you to weary men
so you weary your god also?
14. Therefore the Lord will give to them
a sign, behold, the maiden has
conceived and bore a son and she
will call his name Immanuel
15. Curds and honey he will eat that he
may know to refuse evil and to
choose good.
16. Therefore before the boy knows to
refuse evil and to choose good, the
land that you dread will be deserted
from before her two kings.
17. The Lord will bring over you and
over your people and over the
house of your father days that did
not come since the day that Ephraim
departed from Judah, the king of
Assyria.
18. And it will be in that day, the Lord
will hiss to a fly that is at the end of
the Nile of Egypt and to a bee that is
in the land of Assyria.
19. And the will come and all rest in the
steep ravines and in the clefts of the
rocks and in all of the thorn bushes
and in all of the watering places.
20. In that day the Lord will shave with a
razor the hired beyond the river,
with the king of Assyria, the head
and the hair of the feet and also it
will sweep away the beard.
21. And it will be in that day, a man will
cause a heifer cow and two sheep to
live

10. And again the lord spoke to Ahaz,
saying:
11. Ask for yourself a sign from the Lord
your God in the depths or in the
heights.
12. And Ahaz said, No I will not ask nor
will I tempt the Lord.
13. And he said, Listen now, house of
David; is it a little thing for you to
provide a struggle with men? How
do you provide a struggle with the
Lord?
14. Therefore the Lord will give to you a
sign, Behold the virgin will conceive
and bear a son, and you will call his
name Emmanuel.
15. He will eat butter and honey before
he knows or prefers evil, he will
choose the good.
16. Therefore before the child knows
good and evil, he disobeys evil to
choose the good, and the land that
you fear from before the two kings
will be abandoned.
17. But God will bring on you and on
your people and on the house of
your father days which have not
come since the day Ephraim was cut
of from Juda by the king of Assyria.
18. And it will be in that day, the Lord
will hiss to the flies, who rule part of
the river of Egypt, and a bee, who is
in the region of Assyria
19. And they will all come and rest in
the valleys of the country and in the
clefts of the rocks and in the caves
and in all the crevices and in all the
trees.
20. In that day the Lord will shave with a
great drunken razor, which is
beyond the river of the king of
Assyra

22. And it will be from the abundance of
milk given, they will eat curds for
everyone left in the land will eat
curds and honey
23. And it will be in that day, every place
that had a thousand vines at a
thousand pieces of silver there will
be briers and thorns
24. With bow and arrow one will go
there for all the land will be briars
and thorns.
25. And all of the mountains that are
hoed with a hoe, you will not go
there for fear of briers and thorns
It will be for letting cattle loose and
for sheep trampling.

Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
everlasting father, prince of peace.
 9. They will not do evil nor destroy on

Isaiah 11
1. A rod will go out from the stump of
Jesse and a branch from the his root
will bear fruit
2. The Spirit of YHWH will rest on him
the spirit of wisdom and
understanding
a Spirit of council and might
a Spirit of knowledge and the fear of
YHWH
3. And his delight will be in the fear of
YHWH
He will not judge by the sight of his
eyes
He will not decide by the hearing of
his ears
4. But in righteousness he will judge
the poor
5. And in uprightness he will decide for
the meek of the earth
And he will strike the earth with the
rod of his mouth and in the breath
of his lips he will kill the wicked.
6. Righteousness will be the belt of his
waiste and faithfulness the belt of
his loins
7. The cow and the bear will feed
togheter
Their children will lie down and the
lion will eat straw like cattle
8. A young plant will play over the hold
of a cobra and over the den of the
viper a weaned child’s hand will
stretch out
