Abstract
Welch Elementary School is a K-5 elementary school that consists of 52 certified teachers. Each
classroom contains a Promethean Activboard that was purchased for the purpose of providing an
interactive learning experience. Analysis of data shows that teachers lack the skills needed to
use these tools most effectively within their classrooms. Therefore, the goal of the grant is to
thoroughly train the certified staff at Welch Elementary School to skillfully use the Promethean
Activboards through the creation and implementation of lessons. By the end of the training,
teachers will be able to create a lesson plan using the interactive, multimedia, and web 2.0
Proposal Text
Demonstrated Need
Data was created through a google form survey and sent to all certified staff at Welch
Elementary School. The survey consisted of questions that inquired about the types of training
that teachers feel would help them to better incorporate technology within their classroom. After
consulting with the Coweta County Director of Technology, school principal, and teachers
throughout the school, a list of most requested trainings was compiled. From this list, the google
form survey was created and sent to all certified staff at Welch Elementary School. See
Appendix A. After analyzing the data, we discovered there is an immediate need for teacher
training on Promethean Activboards. 34% of certified teachers expressed a need for more

Plan of Operation
The projected timeline is for this training to take place during the 2020-2021 school year. The

Evaluation Plan
Welch Elementary School will implement the evaluation of the Promethean Activboard training
according to Kirkpatrick’s Evaluation Model. The goals and objectives will be evaluated by
Welch Elementary and the Coweta County Director of Technology. There will be a formative
and summative evaluation to assess knowledge learned. The Director of Technology will
administer a pre-test to measure the level of understanding before the training. He will also
administer a pre-survey (Appendix C) to measure the level of motivation and reaction for the
training. The last thing the participants will do before they leave the training will be to complete
a post-test and post-survey (Appendix D). The Director of Technology will collect the results to
show the knowledge, understanding and attitudes of the participants after the training is
complete. While the training is taking place, the Director of Technology will show participants
how to use the technology and then will allow them to create their own lessons and activities.
The Director of Technology will walk throughout the room to observe if the training taught the
skills needed to create and apply the Promethean Activboard to everyday use in the classroom.
Welch Elementary will continue to be evaluated after the training. Participants will continue to
create interactive Promethean Activboard lessons and will submit them to the principal via their
lesson plans. Observations of these lessons will take place to ensure effectiveness in the
participants' classrooms. The principal or media specialist will be the evaluator. The following
