MATERI DESCRIPTIVE TEXT

 PENGERTIAN DESCRIPTIVE TEKT
Descriptive text adalah suatu jenis teks yang bertujuan
untuk menjelaskan atau mendeskripsikan orang,
binatang, tempat ataupun suatu benda. Umumnya,
yang dideskripsikan adalah bentuk, ciri, ataupun
sifatnya.

STRUKTUR DESCRIPTIVE TEXT

Struktur Descriptive Text (generic structure) adalah :
1. Identification (identifikasi) adalah pendahuluan ,
berupa gambaran umum tentang suatu topik.
2.Description (deskripsi) adalah berisi ciri-ciri khusus
yang dimiliki benda, tempat, atau orang yang
dideskripsikan.
Ciri-ciri Descriptive Text :
- Menggunakan simple present tense
- Menggunakan attribute verb, seperti be (am, is, are)
- Hanya fokus pada satu objek tersebut.
 CONTOH DESCRIPTIVE TEKT
Prambanan is the largest Hindu temple compound in Central Java in
Indonesia, located approximately 18 km east of Yogyakarta. It is
characterised by its tall and pointed architecture, typical of Hindu
temple architecture, and by the 47 m high central building inside a
large complex of individual temples. It was built around 850 CE by
either Rakai Pikatan, king of the second Mataram Dynasty, or
Balitung Maha Sambu, during the Sanjaya Dynasty. Not long after its
construction, the temple was abandoned and began to deteriorate.
Reconstruction of the compound began in 1918. The main building
was completed in around 1953.

Tujuan dari descriptive text ini tentu saja yaitu untuk dapat
mendeskripsikan, menjelaskan ataupun menggambarkan akan segala
sesuatu hal atau benda yang telah di deskripsikan, yang berguna
untuk dapat memberikan suatu informasi kepada pendeskripsi dan
juga pembaca.

CONTOH SOAL DESCRIPTIVE TEXT

Kediri is a name of a town. It is situated in a valley between the Kelud
and Willis mountains and inhabited by about 1.3 million people. In
the centre of the town there is a large hill which is called the Dathok
Mountain. Because of the topography of the region, Kediri is called a
chilly town by the locals. There is a big river called Brantas cutting off
the centre of the town.

Beside the temples, Kediri is also famous for its products like
cigarettes and a special kind of tofu or bean curd. This highly
nutritious food is delicacy of Kediri and has a distinctive taste. The
cigarettes factory dominates the town economy and employs the
majority of the women labor force. Kediri and the cigarettes factory
are inseparable and it is considered the biggest cigarette factory in
Indonesia. Most of the local people work in this factory. Those who
do not work here are farmers or traders.
