Scope of Work: Quantitative Data Analyst


We are looking for a mid-level Quantitative Data Analyst with demonstrated experience in
quantitative research design particularly sampling, quantitative processing and analysis (adept
in using different quantitative data analysis applications such as SPSS, STATA, ECONO, and
others), data management and reporting. Those with experience of planning and managing the
quantitative components of field surveys would be preferred.

The incumbent shall be responsible for drawing sample calculations for studies or assignments
that may involve quantitative data collection. Also, shall assist the senior sector experts in
design of field survey instruments or questionnaires. Moreover, shall lead the process of data
entry sheets, supervise data entry/cleaning, data consolidation, data analysis, reporting, and
where required provide inputs for data triangulation. The incumbent shall design and oversee
the quality assurance mechanisms for quantitative data collection, management, and analysis.

This is a ‘Full Time’ position based in Islamabad with national and international travel. The
incumbent shall report to Manager Project Management Unit.

Job Description:
The Quantitative Data Analyst will be responsible for the following tasks;
• Provide design inputs for quantitative studies/components of on-going and future
assignments. These may include primary data collection through field surveys, and also
secondary sources review for meta analysis. May include in Conducting custom
statistical analysis of quantitative data for social research studies, collected through
Household Surveys on multiple thematic areas like health, education, Water Sanitation
and Hygiene, Disaster Risk Reduction and others.
• Work with senior team members and provide inputs on sample designs with rationale
(including developing sampling frames) for quantitative researches, reviews and
evaluations.
• Contribute to the design of data collection tools, data analysis plans, and tool specific
data entry modules/sheets
• Lead/assist the training of data collection and processing teams and guide them on
critical quality assurance mechanisms. Also develop and implement independent quality
assurance mechanisms as an added layer on quality data collection and management.
Oversee the data entry, cleaning, and consolidation processes (with guides for field
teams).
• Given study requirements, should be able to gather and extract relevant information
from secondary sources (for meta analysis) and perform data analysis.
• Where required, Specifying weighting plans and imputation methods to compensate for
missing or inconsistent data
• Lead quantitative data analysis using standard statistical and data management
software’s (STATA, SPSS, and others).
• Contribute to proposal/bid development particularly for quantitative components such
as sampling design and calculations (including frame), types of statistical analysis to be
performed and reporting.
• Contribute to/lead data interpretation and reporting, and where required provide
inputs for data triangulation and analysis.
• Design and manage thematic and regional database/s of primary and secondary data for
future use and produce AAN’s periodic updates and reports.

Prerequisites:
• Candidate must hold university (at least 16 years of education) in Statistics/Economics,
and candidates with foreign qualification shall be given preference
• Candidates must have at least three years of experience in quantitative data
management, and analysis. Those with prior experience of being involved in field
surveys shall be preferred.
• Strong data interpretation and reporting (in English) are must for the position.
• Demonstrated and proven experience of using statistical tools and software such as
SPSS, R, STATA and Excel based advance techniques of data analysis.
