1. Give each student a Penny


Pusher grid and four pennies.
2. Read the story. The student
moves the pennies to the Who,
What, When, Where elements
presented in the story.
3. Following the story, match the
students’ grids to the grid beside
the story. Celebrate a match!
On Saturday, Maggie and her mom
went shopping at Costume Depot.
There were so many costumes, it
was hard to choose! In the end, she
decided to buy the princess costume.

On a dark night, Max and his friends


went Trick-or-Treating. He dressed
up as a superhero. On the way
home, they decided to take a
shortcut through the old graveyard.
Everyone was so scared, they ended
up running the whole way!

Braden’s family visited the local


pumpkin farm today. They hosted a
“Jack-o-Lantern Artist” who helped
kids carve unique faces on their
pumpkins. Braden wore his skeleton
costume; so he was truly in the
Halloween frame-of-mind!
On October 31st, Witch threw an
amazing party! She had all of her
friends come to her house. She
made a spooky brew and had lots of
snacks to eat. It was a fun night for
all!

The local pumpkin patch hosted a fun


trick-or-treat event on Saturday.
There were lots of kids there, all
gathering candy that was hidden all
over the farm. Owen and his family
went. He dressed up as his favorite
superhero.

The cemetery in Bella’s town held a


craft fair on October 31st. There
were lots of artists selling their
Halloween crafts. Bella and her mom
shopped and bought several fun
decorations. Bella even bought a
princess costume that someone had
sewn.
