Winter is Coming
We enjoyed an incredible
September but the warm
weather cant last forever.
As the temperature drops,
please be sure to send your
child to school with
appropriate clothing.

This year EBS was able to raise $3,628. This amount is nearly
double the Canadian average donated by elementary schools and
this was $1,000 more than last year. Thank you to all the parents
who helped make sure the event ran safely on a beautiful fall day.
Thank you to M. Fortin for your dedication to this truly
Canadian event!

PUMPKIN DECORATING
Cycle 2 was very busy decorating their pumpkins at school to
enter a pumpkin contest at the Botanical Gardens. On October
21st, we went to the Botanical Gardens and Insectarium to meet
Esmeralda the witch, and to see a French play called PepoCitrouille. We were all super EXCITED!!!!!!

FRIENDSHIP BENCHES
The grade six classes have come together to help develop
friendships. Introducing.... the Friendship Benches! Mrs.
DePetrillo discovered these simple, yet delightful benches on
Facebook. When she shared the picture with Mrs. Robinson,
the two teachers hatched a plan! Even Mr. Robinson got in on the
excitement! In a few days, Mr. Robinson designed and built two
benches. Mrs. Robinson then brought them to school and had the
students put the finishing touches on them... drilling the boards
together in the school yard! The students are presently designing
a meaningful decoration for each bench. Soon the benches will be
in the school yard, hallway, or classrooms... a colourful and cozy
way to encourage budding friendships.

SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY

Science and Tech classes continue to be
busy working on science experiments.
Harley Nadler, a McGil l University
student, visited room 12 and 16 a few weeks
ago to teach the students about reversible
changes. Students partook in hands on
science experiments
where they made
butter, glue and
cheese ( the cheese

With these simple
ingredients: milk,
vinegar, baking soda. They also learned
that Elmer's glue is made from milk. If
you don't believe us look at the glue label!
