Inert Gas Generator KANGRIM 3.3. Instrumentation and Control Panels 33.1 General In the following are listed all instrument and control panels within the system, with the main items and the function of same The operation and use of the panels during plant operation are covered in detail in following section 5. 3.3.2. Main Control Panel - Engine Control Room (Item No. 8200) This panel is the generators main panel, from which the plant start up is initiated. The panel contains the programmable controller. On the front of the panel, the 1.G. Plant is visualized in form of a mimic diagram including switches with lamps, indicating LEDs, and alarm LEDs with the following work principle: 1) At normal running the alarm LEDs are dark. ~ 2) Alarm is indicated by an acoustic signal and a flashing light for the actual alarm. 3) The acoustic signal and the flashing alarm light are accepted by a push button which stops the acoustic signal 4) Until the acoustic signal is accepted, they will remain on even if the alarm cause is removed (built in memory). 5) Upon resetting the alarm, the alarm light will turn from flashing to steady. The steady light disappears when the alarm cause disappears. 6) normal dosed contact for common alarm is provided for external use. The items mounted on the front of the Main Control Panel can be seen on the Mimic diagram. 3.3.3 Sub Panel -Cargo Control Room (Item No. 8200) ic diagram including On the front of the panel the generator is visualized in the form of a m switches with lamps, alarm LEDs, deck pressure setting indicator. Inert gas temp indicator, position of atmosphere valve indicator and capacity indicator. Deck and 02 alarms are separated. All remaining alarms are displayed as a common alarm. ‘The acoustic signal and the flashing light are accepted by a push button a 2-pen recorder and indicator for O2-content and deck ~ The panel is provided wit ‘main pressure, The items mounted on the front of the Sub Panel CCR ean be seen on the Mimic diagram —..]s SSS KANGRIM INDUSTRIES CO., LTD. 28 - Inert Gas Generator KANGRIM 3.3.4. Sub Panel - Wheel House (Item No. 8300) ‘This panel is an aluminium plate with brushed finish including deck pressure indicator, oxygen content indicator, alarm LEDs and buzzer. ‘The items mounted can be seen on the drawing for Sub Pane! Wheel House. 3.3.5 Oxygen Analyzer and Analyzing ‘The oxygen analyzer is located in the vicinity of the generator. Variation in oxygen content is registered directly. by the O2-analyser (Item No.2040). ‘The burner unit (Item No. 2100), cleans the inert gas and indicates flow. Analyzer sample flow is set by the control valve on flow meter (FI 2040). Normal flow setting : 20~40 liter / hr. ‘Sample gas is taken from generator outlet nozzles pressurized to the analyzer. Calibration with N2+02(2% 02 + N2 balance) bottle & air(20.9%) - For further information, refer to Oxygen Analyzer Instruction Manual 3.3.6 The instrument Air Simply to the pneumatically operated valves and control devices shall have a pressure of 6-8 bar(g), and be supplied dry and clean. Operation KANGRIM JNDUSTRIES CO., LTD. 31 aw ul Inert Gas Generator KANGRIM Short Form, Step by Step, Plant Start and Stop Instruction Before Start ‘The LED marked POWER ON” Shall be energized at all times. This is because some alarm functions must be operative even if the plant is not runnin, Check that there is no alarm condition. Reset all alarms, if any, by pressing “ALARM RESET”, Check the oxygen analyzer for correct calibration. (Ref. Separate instruction manual for 02-analyser, Section 11), “02 CONTENT SET POINT” to be set to selected oxygen content, set point e.g. 3%. Select blower by opening valve outlet blower I or 2. Select fuel oil pump by switch marked "SELECT PUMP 1” or “SELECT PUMP 2”. Select sea water intake by positioning of valve for sea water aux. supply. ‘Normal (auto) Start -inert Gas Burner Carry out checks listed in section 5.1 .4 "Before Start”. Press “AUTO START” push button. The start sequence is indicated with lamps and LEDs on the mimic diagram. > Wait until the LED “FLAME ON” is energized and plant is running steady with acceptable oxygen content. Check that all air is evacuated from cooling jacket outlet in sight glass, Check range of “AUTO 02-CONTROL RANGE INDICATOR.” This should be approx. in middle of the scale. Allow stabilizing of O2-content before adjusting. Adjust the selected capacity with “CAPACITY SET POINT” Ifthe “CAPACITY SET POINT” is changed rapidly, it may be occurred fluctuation and it takes a few minutes to stabilize the 02 content. Wait until the stabilization 02 content. Check the temperatures and pressures. Check that there is a flow to the O2-analyzer, adjust if necessary. Switches s2110 and s2140 for auto/manual oil/capacity control shall be in position for automatic control. Position for manual Controls only for emergency running, if control system is out of operation. The plant is now ready for production of inert gas to consumers. Further Control from the Sub Panel in Cargo Control Room (Item No. 8200). Press selector button “SELECT CONS” at Sub Panel in Cargo Control Room after stabilization 02 content. “ —_.@s—_— KANGRIM INDUSTRIES CO., LTD. 32
