SUMMER VACATION HOME WORK – CLASS X

SUBJECT: ENGLISH
 The homework will be assessed as a part of internal assessment. The mark
will be added to the first term marks. So students should complete the
homework and send back through flinnt.
 The home work must be submitted back to teacher online by clicking a photo
of the pages and submitting it back through Flint app by 7 June2020. Home
work sent after the date will not be accepted and marked.
 The home work must be neatly written on sheets of paper or a book and kept
properly so that it will be presented to the teacher when the school will open
after lock down period.

1. Describe the value of freedom for the human beings and how it is
important for the growth of civilisation and humanism as described in the
lesson ‘Nelson Mandela : Long Walk to Freedom’

by every choice we make and every tiniest action resulting from that
choice. Make a slide show highlighting the pathetic conditions of the animals
put in zoo with reference to the poem’Tiger in the zoo’.

1. Imagine you are the seagull’s mother. You wanted him to fly and your
plan worked. Write a page in your diary to describe how he ventured
into his flight.
2. It is important for everyone to experience loss and to stand up after it.
Explain the above idea with reference to the poem ”The Ball Poem”.

summarise the chapter in your own words.

1. Read the chapter no.4(A Question Of Trust)from the supplementary reader
book(Footprints Without feet) and write the character sketch of Horace
Danby in about 100 words.

2. If, somehow you discovered how to become invisible, how would you use
that opportunity? Taking hints from the story,(Footprints without feet)i.e
chapter no.5 of the supplementary reader write a paragraph on the role of
scientist Griffin and how will you contradict his character.
