NOTICE TO CANDIADATES APPEARING IN ENGINEERING GRADE

EXAMINATION.

Subject: Revised Schedule for conduct of MEO/ETO Grade written examination for the month of
October 2020.

Taking into consideration the guidelines issued by Govt of India for the unlock period 5, the
Directorate has decided to resume MEO/ETO grade written examination (except MEO Class IV)
from the month of October2020 by following the SOP issued on 07 .09 .2020.
2. Since conduct of MEO/ETO grade written examination was not carried out from the month of
April 2020 to prevent spread of Covid-I9 pandemic, it is assumed that there may be many
candidates willing to appear the examination in the month of October 2020. Understanding this
and reduction in seating capacity for maintaining physical distancing, the Directorate plans to
conduct the examination in two shifts to accommodate maximum possible number of candidates.

3. The maximum number of candidates that can be accommodated in each Examination centers is
ven below. Hence the ca ndidates are advised to plan their seat b< roking accordingly.

4. On completion of seat booking through DGS E- governance, respective MMDs shall prepare
shift wise candidate list and forward the same to the Chief Examiner of Engineers for uploading in
DGS website
5. Allcandidates are advised to refer DGS website, https://www.dgshipping.gov.in, to know their
shift number for reporting to exam centre as per the timings and shall comply with requirements
stated in SOP dated 7th Sept 2020.

6. The on line (DGS E-Gov) seat booking for the Month of October 2020 shall remain open from
0 l. I 0.2020 to 09. I 0.2020 (midnight).

7. The revised schedule for conduct of the MEO grade (except MEO Class IV) and ETO
examinations in the Month of October 2020 is as follows and supersedes the examination schedule
issued on 1510912020.

8. MEO Class IV written examination will not be held in the month of October 2020 as the
agency entrusted to conduct the online examination is not yet ready and waiting for approvals to
open their centers. It is expected that APTECH will inform their readiness in October for holding
of MEO Class IV online written examination in the month of November 2020. As soon as the
confirmation received from APTECH, the schedule for conduct of MEO Class IV examinations
in month of November will be issued.
This is issued with the approval of the Chief examiner of engineers.
