sweeping effects in the public health, business, and travel sectors, among others. And while the
repercussions for the entertainment industry may seem to pale in comparison to the clear threat
the virus poses to human life, the ripple effects do have implications for the people around the
world who make a living producing and distributing movies, music, and more.

Effect of Coronavirus outbreak

Major shortfall in revenue from events

Postponed and cancelled events could lead to a decline in revenues for the event organizers as
well as for media that broadcast them. Cable television companies are partly dependent upon
advertising, meaning that any decline in revenue will impact profitability.

Difficult to attract People

Due to outbreak India has been put under 21 days complete Lockdown which leads to postpone
of major shootings and ongoing projects. In recent report it has been found out that lockdown has
adversely affected the revenues and profits of the film industry. Even after the Lockdown it will
take long time for people to actually feel free and protected to go for movies in theatre. It will be
difficult for people to make up their mindset that now it is safe to go out and have fun. Hence all
these factors will be affecting the growth of Indian Entertainment Industry for next few months
after things get settle down.

Change in concept and mindset

As this is virus is something about which nobody has thought off and will affect the whole
mindset of people towards what they watch. So after this outbreak there will be major change in
the concepts of movies and other entertainment. Previously it has been seen that the major focus
of concept has changed drastically specially in India where they have focused more upon
Biographic and autobiographies.
Increased online media consumption

As more people stay home, self-isolation and quarantine measures could increase media
consumption in the home. This may result in an increased use of entertainment services such as
video on-demand and gaming. In India, after the country implemented nationwide isolation
measures, average weekly downloads of apps during the first two weeks of March mid jumped
40% compared with the average for the whole of 2019, according to the Financial term. In the
same month, weekly game downloads on Apple devices were up 80% versus 2020. As per the
report during the coronavirus outbreak shows that traditional media also received a boost in
consumption – TV viewership grew after complete Lockdown, when normally it experiences a
dip. Even there has been huge demand of telecasting the old serials like Ramayana, Mahabharata
and other shows has been viewed by millions people.
