TrueType Fonts (TFF)

Made by Apple and Microsoft in the 80’s , to be used natively and
easy to read by default printers. It can be resized to any size without
losing quality and looks the same when printed as it does on the
screen, and it includes both the screen and the printer font data in a
single file. Which made installing new fonts easy.

OpenType Fonts (OTF)

It combines aspects of PostScript and TrueType font formats and is
fully scalable, meaning the font can be resized without losing
quality. OTF is a better font it supports more advanced typesetting
features (small caps, alternates, ligatures) and so on. It can also
contain either spline (TTF-style) or Bezier (PostScript Type 1-style)
curves.

The Difference Between OTF and TFF :-

- TFF depends solely on glyph tables that define how each character
looks, and uses quadratic Bezier splines in it format, and uses SFNT
structure to add additional language.

- OTF is able to use glyphs along with CCF (Compact Font Format)
tables; it also adds a few smart font features, on top of the SFNT
structure that is being used by TTF, to add additional language
support to the fonts. it has better cross-platform support, better
support for the international character sets specified in the Unicode
standard, the ability to specify advanced typographic controls, the
ability to add a digital signature to a font set to ensure the integrity
of the files, and the file size are smaller.

Which Is Better?
OTF is better than TFF, because It has more features that are
intended to allow typesetters and designers flexibility to provide
incremental changes designed to improve the overall look of a piece.
