Regarding the electrical tests that were performed, I have a few questions:

1. Readings (3.4,3.2,3.5) – are these phase to ground?  What is the procedure
for taking such readings and what is the acceptance criteria?

On 31stAugust Surface connector

was disconnected at AC52, Electric
mesurements from the penetrator
were done.

First was the Ohm reading Phase to

Phase between AB, BC and AC by a
Fluke 87V

The optimal motor winding resistance

usually is not given by manufacturer
however both ESP Specialist, PFT
technician and client it is criticality
that these values must be the same.
(Balanced).

2. The 0.02 kilo-ohm reading

was a megger test I presume
on a given phase.  Same
questions as above, what is
the procedure for taking such readings and what
is the acceptance criteria?

A second reading was Phase to Ground. Low insulation

resistance value of 0.02 kOhm was displayed on Megger
by connecting black clip on one phase and red clip on
top Penetrator’s Main Body. At field a minimum test
value of motor insulation resistance is 1 Giga Ohm
(1GΩ) by applying 1000VDC x 10 minutes

3. When the penetrator was tested by itself ideally an

insulating plug would be installed on the male-pin side (the
side that connects to the lower connector) to mitigate any
potential for corona discharge between the phases.  We can
perform this test in our shop and compare the reported
values.  Again, acceptance criteria would be helpful here as well.
When the penetrator was tested separately this was previously cleaned and dried
also an isolated cover protector was installed on the male-pin side.

Insulation resistance test was done by connecting red clip on one phase and red
black on top Penetrator’s Main Body (Phase to Ground)

Low resistance were presented two phases.
