Georges Prosper Remi, known by the pen name Hergé was a Belgian cartoonist. He is best known for creating The
Adventures of Tintin, the series of comic albums which are considered one of the most popular European comics of the
20th century. In this comic, holidaying on a Mediterranean cruise ship Tintin and his dog Snowy meet a film director
called Rastapopoulos. When two policemen (Thomson and Thompson) accuse Tintin of heroin contraband, he escapes
to search for the undiscovered tomb of the Pharaoh Kih-Oskh. Tintin discovers that the tomb is full of boxes of cigars
labelled with a mysterious symbol, but he falls unconscious after an unseen enemy gasses him.

Garfield is a comic created by Jim Davis who wrote all of the Garfield TV specials for CBS, originally broadcast between
1982 and 1991. He also produced the Garfield & Friends Saturday Morning series, which aired on the channel from
1988 to 1994. Garfield, published since 1978, chronicles the life of the title character, Garfield, the cat; Jon Arbuckle,
the human; and Odie, the dog. This comic has been published in roughly 2,580 newspapers and journals, and held the
Guinness World Record for being the world's most widely published comic strip.
Calvin and Hobbes is a daily comic strip by American cartoonist Bill Watterson that was syndicated from November
18, 1985 to December 31, 1995. Watterson was born in Washington, D.C. and grew up in Chagrin Falls, Ohio, whose
suburban Midwestern United States setting was part of the inspiration for Calvin and Hobbes. Commonly cited as "the
last great newspaper comic", it has enjoyed broad and enduring popularity, influence, and academic interest. This was
one of the earlier Calvin and Hobbes strips, and is widely regarded as the first truly hilarious strip. I mean why does a
kid do anything? Does he really even need a reason?

Peanuts is a syndicated daily and Sunday American comic strip written and illustrated by Charles M. Schulz. Charles,
nicknamed Sparky, was an American cartoonist widely regarded as one of the most influential cartoonists of all time
also cited as a major influence by many later cartoonists,The comic strip Peanuts is among the most popular and
influential in the history of comic strips, with 17,897 strips published in all,making it "arguably the longest story ever
told by one human being". The strip focuses entirely on a social circle of young children, where adults exist but are
rarely seen or heard. The main character, Charlie Brown, is meek, nervous, and lacks self-confidence.
xkcd is a webcomic created by the American author Randall Munroe, who is a cartoonist, engineer and scientific
theorist. Munroe states on the comic's website that the name of the comic is not an initialism but "just a word with no
phonetic pronunciation". The subject matter of the comic varies from statements on life and love to mathematical,
programming, and scientific in-jokes. Some strips feature simple humor or pop-culture references.

The Betty Boop comic strip by Bud Counihan (assisted by Fleischer staffer Hal Seeger) was distributed by King
Features Syndicate from 1934 to 1937. From 1984 to 1988, a revival strip with Felix the Cat, Betty Boop and Felix,
was produced by Mort Walker's sons Brian, Neal, Greg, and Morgan. In 1990, First Comics published Betty Boop's Big
Break, a 52-page original graphic novel by Joshua Quagmire, Milton Knight, and Leslie Cabarga. In 2016, Dynamite
Entertainment published new Betty Boop comics with 20 pages in the alternative American anime graphic novel style.
Betty Boop was described in a 1934 as: "combining” in appearance the childish with the sophisticated—a large round
baby face with big eyes and a nose like a button, framed in a somewhat careful coiffure, with a very small body.
Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal (SMBC) is a webcomic by Zach Weinersmith. Weinersmith is an American
cartoonist involved in writing and drawing comics since his high school years, but he first published on the internet in
the late 1990s. His early comics feature few recurring characters or storylines, and have no set format; some strips
may be a single panel, while others may go on for ten panels or more. Recurring themes in SMBC include atheism, God,
superheroes, romance, dating, science, research, parenting and the meaning of life.SMBC is published daily.

Existential Comics is a webcomic about philosophy created by Corey Mohler, a software engineer in Portland, Oregon.
Mohler, who has an amateur interest in the subject rather than an academic background, created it in December 2013
in an attempt to help popularize philosophy through comedy. The comic tends to depict philosophers of different
backgrounds and has them interact and argue with each other. It also gives textual descriptions of the jokes and
associated philosophy to help educate readers.
Non Sequitur is a comic strip created by Wiley Miller (usually credited as just Wiley) in 1992 and syndicated by
Universal Press Syndicate to over 700 newspapers.Miller is an American cartoonist whose work is characterized by
social satire and he is the only cartoonist to win an NCS Divisional Award in his first year of syndication. Translated
from Latin as "it does not follow", Non Sequitur is often political and satirical, though other times, purely comedic.
Today, the comic has become more traditional, sometimes using a multi-panel format and recurring characters.Non
Sequitur has been honored with four National Cartoonists Society Awards.

Dilbert is an American comic strip written and illustrated by Scott Adams, first published on April 16, 1989.The strip is
known for its satirical office humor about a white-collar, micromanaged office featuring engineer Dilbert as the title
character. The strip has spawned dozens of books, an animated television series, a video game, and hundreds of
Dilbert-themed merchandise items. Dilbert Future and The Joy of Work are among the most read books in the series.
Adams received the National Cartoonists Society Reuben Award in 1997 and the Newspaper Comic Strip Award in the
same year for his work on the strip. Dilbert appears online and in 2,000 newspapers worldwide in 65 countries and 25
languages.
