Impact of Covid-19 on Pakistan Economy

The COVID-19 was first identified in Wuhan City, Hubei Province, China.  It was
initially reported to the WHO on December 31, 2019. On January 30, 2020, the
WHO declared the COVID-19 outbreak a global health emergency. On March
11, 2020, the WHO declared COVID-19 a global pandemic. It had put the world
at standstill. It has different repercussion on different sectors. In education
sector it has created the largest disruption in history, affected nearly 1.6
billion learners in more than 190 countries and all continents. Closures of
schools and other learning spaces have impacted 94 per cent of the world’s
student population, the Pakistan education sector is no exception. Pakistan
has faced unprecedented educational challenges amid COVID-19 outbreak;
however, effective educational measures for the promotion of distance
learning had ameliorated the implications up to some extent.
