CURRENT STATUS OF COVID-19 PANDEMIC

The first case of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in the Philippines occurred on January
30, 2020, in a 38-year-old woman from Wuhan, China. After a few days, Philippines recorded
the first death outside China on February 1 of 2020. On March 9, 2020, the Philippine
government declared a health emergency, which was followed by a sudden increase in confirmed
cases and local transmission. As of March 31, there were 1,546 coronavirus cases in the
Philippines. One of the coronavirus cases confirmed on March 6th was a human-to-human
transmission, putting the country on high alert. Because of its proximity to China, the Philippines
is far more likely than other countries to see an increase in cases of novel coronavirus infection.
A temporary travel ban was declared to avoid contacts from the other countries, to prevent the
covid to spread.

The Covid-19 pandemic affected people all over the world, not just in the Philippines. It
has an impact on the students' studies because it has become an online class rather than a
traditional class. The current status of the Covid 19 cases has been fluctuating in the past months.
From 22 of August to 18 of September the cases were decreased followed by the increased of
cases in the week of 19 of September to 25 of September 2022. The following regions recorded
the highest case counts: National Capital Region or NCR has the highest cases (3,915 cases),
Region IV-A CALABARZON (2,166 cases) and Region III Central Luzon (1,384 cases) as per
October 2022. The covid 19 has decreased because the government and medical team worked
together to provide people with a vaccine that can help us avoid having a covid. The WHO team
provided technical assistance and action points to improve COVID-19 vaccination and routine
immunization coverage worldwide. Individuals benefit greatly from having a COVID vaccine.
Drinking a vitamin every day can also help the body avoid contact with a covid 19.

Continued implementation of wearing a face mask and social distancing will be a big
help for us to avoid covid 19, even if the cases have decreased. The last few months have been a
brutal lesson in just that. How uncertain life can become all of a sudden. Nonetheless, the vast
majority of people do an admirable job. People adjusted to the fact that their world had been
turned inside out and upside down. We learned to live with a foreshortened life after becoming
accustomed to planning our lives months in advance, the real challenge will be to remember
what you've learned. When life becomes predictable again - predictable but not certain
