F and D are not immediate neighbors. The distance between K and D are less than 100m.K is not sitting
opposite to L. Thus case 1b is the final arrangement.

Directions (11-15): Study the following information carefully and answer the given questions below.
Certain number of persons are sitting around the circular table having circumference 306m, in such a way
that some are facing center while some are facing away from center. They are seating at consecutive
multiple of ‘3’ in clockwise direction.
Two person sits between U and P. Z sits immediate left of P and is four places away from R. C
neither sits adjacent to K nor sits facing same direction with M. Three person sits between D and K, who
neither sits adjacent to Y nor sits adjacent to R. B and Z sits facing in same direction. D and K sits facing in
same direction but opposite to T. K sits 39m right of M, who doesn’t sits adjacent to U but sits facing
center. R neither sits adjacent to Y nor sits adjacent to B. D sits immediate left of U. P sits 51m left of Y. D
sits third to right of B. C sits 21m right of Q. Not more than four person sits between B and T, when
counted left of T.

Seating Arrangement Questions 2019
Clearly, all the above given statements are not true.
Hence, option E is correct choice.

Explanation:
We have:
• We have circumference of the circular table = 306m.
• Person sits at consecutive multiple of 3.
Thus, (3 + 6 + 9 + 12 + 15 + …….. + 3N) = 306
Similarly, if we take 3 common from both side, we have:
(1 + 2 + 3 + 4 + 5 + …… + N) = 102
We know that, sum of N consecutive numbers = N (N + 1)/2
Thus, N (N + 1)/2 = 102

We have:
Case 1: If N = 14, then (14 x 15)/2 = 105, which is more than the given value.
Case 2: If N = 13, then (13 x 14)/2 = 91, which is less than the given value.
That, means total number of person in the circle are either 13 or less than 13.
• Again, for 13 number of person:
Circumference = (3 + 6 + 9 + 12 + …………. + 39) = 273, which is less than the given circumference.
• Thus, we have possibility that counting starts from 6, then we have:
Circumference = (6 + 9 + 12 + 15 + ………………. + 42) = 312.
Which is more than given circumference, thus there must be less 13 persons.
• Again, for 12 person:-
Circumference = (3 + 6 + 9 + 12 + …………. + 36) = 234, which is less than the given circumference.
• Thus, we have possibility that counting starts from 6, then we have:
Circumference = (6 + 9 + 12 + 15 + ………………. + 39) = 270, which is still less than the given circumference,
• Thus, we have possibility that counting starts from 9, then we have:
Circumference = (9 + 12 + 15 + ………………. + 42) = 306
That, means we have 12 person in the circle and counting starts from 9 in clockwise direction.
• K sits 39m right of M, who doesn’t sits adjacent to U but sits facing center, that means we have two
possible combination for distance to be 39m, i.e (18 + 21) & 39, that means in case (1) one person
sits between K and M, in case (2) no person sits between K and M.
• Three person sits between D and K, who neither sits adjacent to Y nor sits adjacent to R.
• D sits immediate left of U.
• Two person sits between U and P.
• P sits 51m left of Y, only two such combinations are possible (24, 27) & (42, 9), that means in case
(1) U sits facing away from center and P sits (42 + 9)m left of Y and case (2) is not valid.
Based on above given information we have:

13 | P a g e
Copyright 2019 @ AffairsCloud.com & IBPSGuide.com
Seating Arrangement Questions 2019

Case (2) is not valid as P sits 51m left of Y.

Again, we have:
• Z sits immediate left of P and is four places away from R.
• R neither sits adjacent to Y nor sits adjacent to B, that means in case (1a) P sits facing away from
center and R sits adjacent to D, in case (1b) P sits facing center and R sits adjacent to K.
• D sits third to right of B.
• B and Z sits facing in same direction, that means in case (1a) B sits facing away from center, in case
(1b) B sits facing towards center.
• C sits 21m right of Q.
• C neither sits adjacent to K nor sits facing same direction with M, since only such possible
combination are (9 + 12)m & 21m, that means in case (1a) Q sits facing center and C sits facing
away from center and case (1b) is not valid.
• Not more than four person sits between B and T, when counted left of T, that means T sits facing
away from center and sits immediate right of U.
• D and K sits facing in same direction but opposite to T, since T sits facing away from center, that
means D and K sits facing center.
Based on above given information we have final arrangement as follow:

Case (1b) is not valid as C sits 21m right of Q.

Seating Arrangement Questions 2019
Directions (21-25):
Solution:

Common Explanation:
We have:
• S sits fourth to right of H, whose age is prime number.
• Difference between age of H and P is 13 years, as age of H is prime number, thus only possible
prime age are 29 & 31 years, but difference of ages of H and P is 13 years, then only possible
combination is (16, 29), that means age of H is 29 years and that of P is 16 years.
• Neither H nor S sits at end of the row, that means in case (1) S sits second from right end, in case (2)
S sits third from right end, in case (3) S sits fourth from right end, in case (4) S sits fifth from right
end.
• One person sits between the one whose age is 21 years and S.
• The one whose age is 21 years sits fourth to right of L, whose age is neither 36 years nor sits at end
of the row, that means in case (1) the one whose age is 21 years sits fourth from right end, in case
(2a) the one whose age is 21 years sits at right end, in case (2b) the one whose age is 21 years sits
fifth from right end, in case (3) the one whose age is 21 years sits second from right end, in case (4)
the one whose age is 21 years sits third from right end.
Based on above given information we have:

Again, we have:
• Two person sits between L and the one whose age is 52 years, who neither sits adjacent to S nor
adjacent to the one whose age is 28 years, that means in case (1) the one whose age is 52 years sits
fifth from right end, in case (2a) the one whose age is 52 years sits third from left end, in case (2b)
the one whose age is 52 years sits sixth from right end, in case (3) the one whose age is 52 years sits
second from left end, in case (4) the one whose age is 52 years sits at left end.

Seating Arrangement Questions 2019

• P sits second to right of B, whose age is 28 years.

• P neither sits adjacent to H nor sits at end of the row.
• The one whose age is 16 years sits immediate left of the one whose age is 24 years, as age of P is 16
years. (Note:- Please see line number 2 of solution)
• Three person sits between the one whose age is 28 years and K, whose age is neither 31 years nor
sits adjacent to S, that means in case (2a) P sits fourth from left right end, in case (2b) P sits second
from right end, in case (4) P sits second from right end and case (1) & case (3) are not valid.
Based on above given information we have:

Case (1) & case (3) is not valid as three person sits between the one whose age is 28 years and K.
Again, we have:
• Age of S is not a perfect square. Difference between the age of S and D is 15 years, S is elder than D, as
only such possible combinations are (16, 31) & (24, 39), but age of P is 16 years, thus age of D must
be 24 years and age of S must be 39 years, that means case (2a) is not valid.
• Two person sits between the one whose age is 39 years and R, that means in case (2b) age of R is 52
years and case (4) is not valid.
Based on above given information we have final arrangement as follow:

Seating Arrangement Questions 2019
Case (2a) is not valid as difference between the age of S and D is 15 years, case (4) is not valid as two
person sits between the one whose age is 39 years and R.

Answers:
21) Answer: D
Explanation:
We have:
From I:
• The one whose age is 36 years sits adjacent to the one whose age is 49 years, since age of L is not
36 years and age of K is not 31 years, thus age of L must be 49 years.
Thus, from above given information we have:

Hence, statement I is alone sufficient.

From II:
We have:
• One person sits between the one whose age is 31 years and T, as age of K is not 31 years, thus no
such possible position of T is available.
Hence, statement II is not sufficient alone.
From III:
We have:
• The one whose age is 31 years sits adjacent to L, since, age of K is not 31 years, that means the one
whose age is 31 years sits at left end.
• As, age L is not 36 years, thus age of L must be 49 years.
Based on above given information we have:

Hence, statement III is alone sufficient.

arrangement.

Directions (35-39): Study the following information carefully and answer the below questions.
Eight persons P, Q, R, S, T, U, V and W are sitting around a circular table in such a way that some are facing
towards the center while other facing away from center. Weight of each person is different viz. 36kg, 43kg,
48kg, 51kg, 63kg, 64kg, 72kg and 96kg but not necessarily in the same order. The one whose weight is 72kg
and Q doesn’t sit together. W sits facing center. V sits third to left of the one whose weight is heighest. The
one whose weight is 43kg sits immediate right of T, whose weight is neither 96kg nor 63kg. V and the one
whose weight is 63kg sits facing in opposite direction.
Following conditions are used to determine position and weight of each person:
1. ‘P @ Q’ means “P sits Second to the left of Q”.
2. ‘P & Q’ means “P sits immediate neighbor of Q”.
3. ‘P % Q’ means “two person sits between P and Q”.
4. ‘P ^ Q’ means “P is not immediate neighbor of Q”.
5. ‘P > Q’ means “P doesn’t sit opposite to Q”.
6. ‘P ? Q’ means “P sits second to right of Q and his weight is 21 more than Q”.
7. ‘P # Q’ means “Weight of P is twice the weight of Q”.
Note: 1 represent the one whose weight is 36kg, 2 represents the one whose weight is 43kg, and so on
untill 8 represents the one whose weight is 96kg.
Similarly , ‘1@2’ means “the one whose weight is 36kg sits Second to the left of the one whose weight is
43kg”, ‘P@1’ means “P sits second to the left of the one whose weight is 36kg”.

Seating Arrangement Questions 2019

Clearly, the one whose weight is 63kg its immediate neighbor of the one whose weight is 96kg.
Hence, option C is correct choice.

37) Answer: B
Explanation:
Clearly, only four person sits between T and Q, when counted left of T.
Hence, option B is correct choice.

38) Answer: B
Explanation:
Clearly, U (72) sits immediate left of W.
Hence, option B is correct choice.

39) Answer: D
Explanation:
Clearly, P sits second to left of U (72).
Hence, option D is correct choice.

Explanation:
We have:
• Q@R%7:- Q sits second to left of R, that means we have two possibility, in case (1) R sits facing
center, in case (2) R sits facing away from center.
• Two person sits between R and the one whose weight is 72kg.
• The one whose weight is 72kg and Q doesn’t sit together, that means the one whose weight is 72kg
sits third to right of R.
• 7#V, R>1 and 8&Q:- The one whose weight is 72kg is twice the weight of V, that means weight of V
must be 36kg.
• The one whose weight is 96kg sits immediate neighbor of Q.
• R and the one whose weight is 36kg doesn’t sit opposite to each other
• V sits third to left of the one whose weight is heighest, that means in case (1a) the one whose
weight is 96kg sits third to left of R and V sits second right of R, in case (1b) the one whose weight is
96kg sits immediate left of R and V sits second to right of R, in case (2a) the one whose weight is

96kg sits immediate left of R and V sits second to right of R, in case (2b) the one whose weight is
96kg sits third third to left of R and V sits second to right of R.
Based on above given information we have:

Again, we have:
• 1@W?Q:- The one whose weight is 36kg sits second to left of W.
• W sits facing center, that means case (2a) & case (2b) are not valid.
• Weight of W is 21kg more than Q and W sits second to right of Q, that means only two possible
combination of weight whose difference is 21kg are (43, 64) and (51, 72).
• Since, weight of neither Q nor W is 72kg, thus, weight of W must be 64kg and that of Q is 43kg.
• The one whose weight is 43kg sits immediate right of T, whose weight is neither 96kg nor 63kg, that
means in case (1a) T sits facing away from center, in case (1b) T sits facing center.
• S#T@4:- Weight of S is twice the weight of T, since only two combination of weight is possible
whose weight is twice the other are (36, 72) & (48, 96),but already V is 36kg, thus weight of S must
be 96kg and that of T is 48kg.
• T sits second to left of the one whose weight is 51kg, that means in case (1a) the one whose weight
is 51kg sits facing center and case (1b) is not valid.
Based on above given information we have:

Seating Arrangement Questions 2019

Case (1b) is not valid as T sits second to left of the one whose weight is 51kg, case (2a) & case (2b) is not
valid as W sits facing center.
Again, we have:
• Since, only remaining person having weight 63kg is left, thus weight of R must be 63kg.
• V and the one whose weight is 63kg sits facing in opposite direction, that means V sits facing away
from center.
• P@U%5:- P sits second to left of U, that means U sits facing center.
• Two person sits between U and the one whose weight is 63kg, that means weight of U must be
72kg and the weight P becomes 51kg.

Directions (40-44): Study the following information carefully and answer the below questions.
Ten person namely – B, C, F, G, K, M, P, Q, S and U sits in a straight line in such a way that five are facing
north while other five sits facing South. Age of each person is different viz. 28, 31, 32, 35, 36, 39, 41, 45, 48
and 51 years. Each person works in different bank viz. HDFC, ICICI, UCO, SBI, IDBI, PNB, BOB, CBI, RBI and
UBI. Age of G is 45 years and sits second to right of M. P sits four places from the one who works in RBI.
Age of the one who works in SBI is not 32 years. Difference in age of the one who works in PNB and M is 12
years. Person adjacent to S sits facing in opposite direction to S. The one who works in UBI sits second from
right end. C sits second to left of the one who works in BOB, whose age is 31 years. Age of F is not more
than 40 years and sits fourth to left of Q, who doesn’t sit adjacent to U. The one who works in PNB neither
sits adjacent to Q nor the one who works in UBI. Person at end of the rows sits facing in opposite direction.
Following conditions are used to determine position, age and bank of each person:
1. ‘P % Q’ means “P sits immdiate neighbor of Q”.
2. ‘P @ Q’ means “two person sits between P and Q”.
3. ‘P & Q’ means “P sits fourth to right of Q”.
4. ‘P ^ Q’ means “P sits second to left of Q”.
5. ‘P # Q’ means “P doesn’t sit adjacent to Q”.
6. ‘P ? Q’ means “P sits second to left of Q and his age is 7 less than Q”.
7. ‘P > Q’ means “Age of P is 13 less than that of Q”.
8. ‘P < Q’ means “One person sits between P and Q”.
Note: 1 represent the one whose age is 28 years, 2 represents the one whose age is 31 years, and so on
untill 10 represents the one whose age is 51 years.
Similarly, I represent the one who works in HDFC, II represents the one who works in ICICI, and so on untill
X represents the one who works in UBI.

Explanation:
Clearly, only option B is correct.
Hence, option B is correct choice.

Explanation:
We have:
• P sits four places from the one who works in RBI.
• P%X:- P sits immediate neighbor of the one who works in UBI, that means we have two possible
place for P, in case (1) P sits third from right end, in case (2) P sits at right end.
• P sits four places from the one who works in RBI, that means only three person sits between P and
the one who works in RBI.
• P#IV@IX:- Two person sits between the one who works in SBI and the one who works in RBI.
• P and the one who works in SBI doesn’t sit together, that means in case (1) the one who works in
SBI sits at left end, in case (2) the one who works in SBI sits third from left end.
• Q<IV?F:- One person sits between Q and the one who works in SBI, that means in case (1) Q sits
third from left end, in case (2a) Q sits at left end, in case (2b) Q sits fifth from left end.
• Age of the one who works in SBI is 7 less than the age of F, only three possible combination of age
whose difference is 7 years are (28, 35), (32, 39) & (41, 48).
• Age of F is not more than 40 years and sits fourth to left of Q, who doesn’t sit adjacent to U.
• Since, age of the one who works in SBI is not 32 years, thus only possible combination of age is (28,
35), thus age of F must be 35 years.
• As, F sits fourth to left of Q, that means in case (1) Q sits facing south and F sits fourth from right
end, in case (2a) Q sits facing south and F sits fifth from left end, in case (2b) Q sits facing north and
F sits at left end.

Again, we have:
• 8&IV%U:- The one whose age is 45 years sits fourth to right of the one who works in SBI, that
means in case (1) the one who works in SBI sits facing north and the one whose age is 45 years sits
fifth from left end, in case (2a) & case (2b) the one who works in SBI sits facing north and the one
whose age is 45 years sits fourth from right end.
• The one who works in SBI sits immediate neighbor of U.
• Since, U and Q doesn’t sit together, that means in case (2a) U sits fourth from left end, in case (2b)
U sits second from left end and case (1) is not valid.
• Age of G is 45 years and sits second to right of M, that means in case (2a) & case (2b) M sits facing

Again, we have:
• M&VIII%7:- M sits fourth to right of the one who works in CBI, that means in case (2a) F works in
CBI and sits facing north, in case (2b) Q works in CBI.
• The one who works in CBI sits immediate neighbor of the one whose age is 41 years, that means in
case (2a) & case (2b) the one whose age is 41 years sits fourth from left end, in case (2c) & case (2d)
age of the one who works RBI is 41 years.
• 4%6&C:- The one whose age is 35 years sits immediate neighbor of the one whose age is 39 years,
that means in case (2a) age of the one who works in RBI is 39 years, in case (2b) & case (2d) age of
U is 39 years, in case (2c) age of U is 39 years.

• When W moves 28m towards the center and if he turns 90° towards his left then he will face, the
one who works in BOM, that means the one who works in BOM sits second to left of W.
• The one who works in BOM sits 44m right of R, who neither likes 23 nor works in BOB, that means R
sits second to left of the one who works in BOM.
• R sits adjacent to the one who likes 41, that means we have two possible places, in case (1) the one
who likes 41 sits immediate left of R, in case (2) the one who likes 41 sits immediate right of R.
• When the one who likes 41 moves 56m towards center and turns 44m to his left he meets B, who
works in SBI, that means in case (1) B sits immediate right of W, in case (2) B sits immediate left of
R.
Based on above given information we have:

Again, we have:
• E neither sits adjacent to R nor sits adjacent to the one who works in SBI.
• When E moves 28m towards the center and turn of 270° towards right then sits facing the one who
likes 16, that means in case (1a) E sits immediate left of W and the one who likes 16 sits immediate
right of R, in case (1b) & case (2) E works in BOM and R likes 16.
• Two person sits between the one who works in BOB and the one who likes 16.
• The one works in BOB sits facing Q, who neither likes 39 nor sits adjacent to the one who works in
CBI, in case (1a) Q works in BOM and the one who works in BOB sits immediate right of B, in case
(1b) Q likes 41 and the one who works in BOB sits immediate left of W, in case (2) Q likes 41 and the
one who works in BOB sits immediate right of W.
• When G moves three places to his right then he sits facing the one who likes 23.
• The one who likes 23 neither sits adjacent to the one who likes 41 nor sits adjacent to the one who
likes 36, that means in case (1a) G works in BOB, in case (1b) G sits immediate right of B, in case (1c)
G works in BOB, in case (2a) G sits immediate left of B, in case (2b) G works in BOB.

Seating Arrangement Questions 2019

• The one who works in CBI sits 45° right of P, who neither likes 39 nor works in BOB, that means in
case (1a) R works in CBI and P likes 41, in case (1c) Q works in CBI and P sits immediate right of B, in
case (2a) & case (2b) W works in CBI and P sits immediate right of E and case (1b) is not valid.
• Sum of the numbers liked by the one who works in SBI and the D is equal to the number liked by
the one who works in CBI, thus we have only three such combinations (9, 23, 32), (16, 23, 39) & (9,
32, 41), that means in case (1a) the one who likes CBI likes 39, in case (1c) the one who likes SBI
likes 9 and D likes 32, in case in case (2a) the one who works in SBI likes 9, D likes 23 and the one
who works in CBI likes 32 and case (2b) is not valid.
• When the one who works in PNB moves 28m towards center and the turn of 90° towards his right
he sits facing the one who likes 32, that means in case (1a) D works in PNB and E likes 32, in case
(2a) and case (1c) is not valid.
• The difference between the one who works in UCO bank and E is 11, only such combination is (32,
43), that means in case (1a) W works in UCO bank, Based on above given information we have:

Case (1b) is not valid as the one who works in CBI sits 45° right of P, case (1c) is not valid as When the one
who works in PNB moves 28m towards center and the turn of 90° towards his right he sits facing the one
who likes 32, case (2b) is not valid as Sum of the numbers liked by the one who works in SBI and the D is
equal to the number liked by the one who works in CBI. Case (2 a) is not valid because When the one who
works in PNB moves 28m towards center and the turn of 90° towards his right he sits facing the one who
likes 32.

Again, we have:
• When the one who likes 36 moves 28m towards center and takes 405° left turn then he sits facing
the one who works in BOI, since the one who likes 36 doesn’t sit adjacent to the one who likes 23,
thus in case (1a) Q likes 36 and P works in BOI, case (2a) is not valid.
• The one who likes 9 sits 66m right of the one who works in UBI, thus E works in UBI and G likes 9.
• As, only remaining number is 39, thus R likes 39.
Based on above given information we have final arrangement as follow:

whose weight is 48kg sits at corner, thus in case (1) B sits third to right of the one whose weight is
48kg, in case (2) B sits third to left of the one whose weight is 48kg.
● One person sits between E and B, whose weight is 123kg.
● E neither sits adjacent to C nor sits adjacent to H, that means in case (1) E sits second to left of B, in
case (2) E sits second to right of B.
● The one whose weight is 123kg sits exactly opposite to the one whose weight is 53kg.
Based on above given information we have:

age is 126kg sits immediate right of E, in case (1b) & case (2b) the one whose age is 126kg sits
immediate left of E.
● Three person sits between the one whose weight is 126kg and Q.
● Q neither sits adjacent to V nor his weight is 48kg.
● One person sits between H and C, whose weight is not 53kg but sits opposite to Q, as H doesn’t sit
adjacent to E, that means in case (1a) Q sits third to left of E and weight of H is 48kg, in case (1b) Q
sits immediate right of B and H sits fifth to left of E, in case (1c) Q sits fifth to left of E and H sits
immediate right of B, in case (2a) Q sits fifth to right of E and H sits immediate left of B, in case (2b)

Again, we have:
● L sits exactly between T and the one whose weight is 72kg, who sits immediate left of M.
● Weight of L is neither 48kg nor 64kg.
● Three person sits between T and the one whose weight is 36kg.
● Q sits adjacent to the one whose weight is 36kg, that means in case (1a) weight of L is 126kg and
weight of M is 36kg, in case (2c) L sits second to left of T and M sits immediate right of B and case
(1b), case (1c), case (2a) and case (2b) are not valid.
Based on above given information we have:

Case (1b), case (1c), case (2a) & case (2b) are not valid as L sits exactly between T and the one whose

126), thus weight of Q must be 42kg and that of R must be 126kg.
● Since, weight of R is 126.
● Weight of W is twice the weight of Q, thus weight of W is 84kg.
● One person sits between W and F, that means W sits immediate left of H.
● Difference between weight of M and H is 12kg.
● The one whose weight is 39kg not sits adjacent to V, that means weight of weight of M must be
51kg and weight of H is 39kg.
● Three person sits between the one whose weight is 51kg and the one whose weight is 64kg, thus
weight of C must be 64kg.
● As, remaining person is L, thus weight of L must be 41kg.
Based on above given information we have final arrangement as follow:

Case (1a) is not valid as weight of R is 126kg.

Directions (80-84): Study the following information carefully and answer the questions below.
Nine bankers namely – B, D, F, H, P, R, V, W and Z are sitting in a triangular dinner table in such a way that
two persons sit at each edge facing center and one person at the corner facing away from the center. Each
person likes different numbers which is either a square or cube number between 1 to 100. None of the
adjacent person likes consecutive numbers (For Example:- If A sits exactly between C and B, A likes 16, then
none of the B and C likes 9 and 25). Each person also works in different banks viz. PNB, CBI, SBI, BOB, HDFC,
ICICI, UCO, UBI and BOI. All the information is not necessarily in the same order.
The one who likes 36 sits second to right of the one who works in BOI, who doesn’t like cube
number. The one who likes PNB sits four places away from B, who likes 4 but doesn’t work in BOI. F neither
sits adjacent to the one who likes 4 nor sits adjacent to V. The one who likes 64 sits third to the right of the
one who works in SBI, who doesn’t sit adjacent to the one who works in BOB. None of the person likes 81.
The one who works in CBI sits immediate right of D and is three places away from the one who works in
BOB. V sits three places left of the one who likes 9, who sits immediate right of the one who works in PNB.
V does not like a square number but sits facing center. The one who works in HDFC and the one who works

Hence, option B is correct choice.

84) Answer: A
Explanation:
Clearly, the one who works in UCO sits second to left of Z.
Hence, option A is correct choice.

Explanation:
We have:
● V sits three places left of the one who likes 9, who sits immediate right of the one who works in
PNB.
● V does not likes a square number but sits facing center, that means we have two possible position
for the one who works in PNB, in case (1) V sits immediate right of the one who sits at corner and
the one who works in PNB sits at edge of the table, in case (2) V sits immediate right of the one who
sits at corner and the one who works in PNB sits at corner of the table.
● The one who likes PNB sits four places away from B, who likes 4 but doesn’t work in BOI, that
means in case (1a) B sits third to left of V, in case (1b) V sits second to left of B, in case (2) B sits
immediate left of V.
● F neither sits adjacent to the one who likes 4 nor sits adjacent to V.
● The one who likes 27 sits third to left of F, who works in HDFC.
● The one who works in HDFC and the one who works in PNB doesn’t sits together, that means in
case (1a) F sits immediate right of the one who likes 9, in case (1b) F sits second to right of B and
case (2) is not valid.
Based on above given information we have:

Case (2) is not valid as The one who likes 27 sits third to left of F.

Seating Arrangement Questions 2019
● The one who likes 36 sits second to right of the one who works in BOI, who doesn’t like cube
number.
● The one who works in BOI sits four places away from W, who neither likes 9 nor sits adjacent to V,
that means in case (1a) the one who likes 36 sits second to right of F and W sits immediate left of F,
in case (1b) the one who likes 36 sits immediate left of B and the one who works in BOI sits
immediate right of V, in case (1c) the one who likes 36 sits immediate left of B and the one who
works in BOI likes 9, in case (1d) the one who likes 36 sits immediate left of B and the one who
works in BOI sits immediate right of B.
● The one who works in CBI sits immediate right of D and is three places away from the one who
works in BOB.
● The one who works in BOB sits immediate left of R, who doesn’t like 27, that means in case (1b) &
case (1d) the one who works in CBI sits immediate left of F and R likes 36, case (1a) & case (1c) is
not valid.
● Three person sits between the one who works in UBI and the one who likes 49.
● The difference between the one who likes UBI and P is itself a square number, thus we have such
combinations are (4, 8), (9, 25), (16, 25) & (27, 36).
● P neither likes 16 nor 25, thus we have only one such possible combination(27, 36) in case (1b) is P
works in PNB and R works in UBI, case (1d) is not valid.
Based on above given information we have:

Case (1a) & case (1c) are not valid as the one who works in CBI sits immediate right of D and is three
places away from the one who works in BOB, case (1d) is not valid as the difference between the one
who likes UBI and P is itself a square number.
Again, we have:
● The one who likes 64 sits third to right of the one who works in SBI, who doesn’t sit adjacent to the
one who works in BOB, that means W likes 64 and D works in SBI.

Seating Arrangement Questions 2019
● As, V likes cube number and numbers between 1 to 100, only three possible cube numbers are 8,
27 & 64, thus V likes 8.
● Three person sits between the one who likes 8 and Z, who sits adjacent to the one who likes 25,
thus Z works in CBI and F likes 25.
● The one who likes 16 and ICICI sits together, thus V works in ICICI.
● As, only remaining bank is UCO, thus W works in UCO bank.
Based on above given information we have final arrangement as follow:

Four parallel line based seating arrangement

Directions (85-89): Study the following information carefully and answer the questions below.
In the given below figure four line segments 1, 2, 3 & 4 are PZ, BM, LD & HF respectively.

Seven persons namely – Menu, Pihu, Sam, Kajal, Parul, Somya and Deval are sitting in the line-1. All of
them sit facing south and the distance between each person from point ‘P’ is a consecutive multiple of ‘9’.
(For Ex.:- If first person is at right end of the line at point ‘P’, then other remaining person sits at a distance
of 9m, 18m, 27m, ……. from point ‘P’). Each person likes different fruits viz. Mango, Banana, Papaya,
Grapes, Orange, Litchi and Guava. All the information is not necessarily in the same order.
Pihu sits exactly between the one who likes Mango and the one who likes Grapes. The one who
likes Banana sits 57m from point ‘Z’. One person sits between Sam and Somya. Three persons sit between
the one who likes Orange and Menu. The distance between the one who likes Banana and Deval, who likes
Orange is 18m. Three persons sit between the one who likes Guava and Kajal, who doesn’t like Papaya.

Seating Arrangement Questions 2019
Menu sits immediate right of the one who likes Papaya, who neither sits at extreme end nor sits adjacent
to the one who likes Guava. Somya sits at a distance of 18m from Parul, who neither likes Banana nor
Papaya. The one who likes Litchi and the one who likes Mango sits together.
Similarly, seven persons namely – Riya, Tom, Ajeet, Luv, Ravi, Monty and Khushi are sitting in the line-2. All
of them sit facing north and the distance between each person from point ‘L’ is a consecutive multiple of
‘13’. (For Ex.:- If first person is at left end of the line at point ‘L’, then the other remaining persons sit at a
distance of 13m, 26m, 39m, ……. from point ‘L’). Each person works in different company viz. HCL, Dell,
TCS, Amazon, Adobe, HP and Myntra. All the information is not necessarily in the same order.
Two persons sit between Khushi and the one who works in TCS, who sits adjacent to the one who
works in Myntra. Number of persons right to the one who works in HCL is one more than the number of
persons left to Monty. One person sits between the one who works in HP and Ajeet, who neither works in
Adobe nor works in Dell. At least two persons sit between the one who works in Dell and Ravi. The one
who works in Myntra sits at an even distance from point ‘L’. Three persons sit between the one who works
in Myntra and Tom, who sits immediate right of the one who works in HP. The one who works in Adobe
sits at a distance of 26m left of the one who works in Amazon. Monty sits on the immediate right of Riya.

85) What is the difference of distance of the one who likes Guava from point ‘Z’ to the one who works in
HP from point ‘D’?
a) 2m b) 24m c) 7m d) 11m e) None of these

86) In the line ‘LD’, if all the person sits in same order at a consecutive multiple of 23 from point ‘L’(from
point L, the luv is present at a distance of 23) and the rest sits in the line BM, then what is distance
between Ravi and point M?
a) 5m b) 51m c) 48m d) 23m e) Can’t be determined.
(Ravi will be placed in the line LD itself. Only tom will come in the line BM. Hence distance can't be
calculated )
87) What is the position of the one who likes Papaya with respect to Kajal?
a) Second to left b) Immediate left c) Third to left d) Immediate right e) None of these

88) If all the persons from line PZ are made to sit in line HF in alphabetical order of their names at a
consecutive multiple of 7 from point H, then what is the distance between the one who likes Litchi and
point F?(at the right end one person is present)
a) 38m b) 47m c) 26m d) 19m e) None of these

89) Which of the following combination is not true?

a) Luv – Dell b) Parul – Guava c) Khushi – Adobe
d) Kajal – Mango e) All the above given combinations are true.

Seating Arrangement Questions 2019

For line segment LD:-

Answer:
85) Answer: D
Clearly, distance of the one who likes Guava from point ‘z’ = 48m.
Distance of the one who works in HP from point ‘D’ = 59m.
Thus, required difference = (59 – 48) = 11m.
Hence, option D is correct choice.

86) Answer: B
Clearly, if all the person sits at a consecutive multiple of 23.
Thus, only five person sits in line ‘LD’, as (23 x 5) = 115.
(Five persons can be accommodated in the line LD, Ravi and tom will be accommodated in the line BM)
Then, Ravi and Tom sits in line BM. Thus, distance of Ravi from point ‘M’ = (74 – 23) = 51m.
Hence, option B is correct choice.

87) Answer: A
Clearly, the one who likes Papaya sits second to the left of Kajal.
Hence, option A is correct choice.

88) Answer: E
Clearly, if all the person sits in alphabetical order of their names, thus sequence of the person from point
H:- Deval, Kajal, Menu, Parul, Pihu, Sam and Somya.
Thus, Menu sits 34m from point F.
Hence, option E is the correct choice.

89) Answer: B
Clearly, Parul likes Grapes.
Hence, option B is correct choice.

Seating Arrangement Questions 2019
Explanation:
We have:
For line segment PZ:-
● The one who likes Banana sits 57m from point ‘Z’, since length of line segment PZ is 84m and total
distance occupied by seven persons at a gap of consecutive multiple of ‘9’ from point ‘P’, thus total
occupied distance = (n – 1) x 9; where n = number of person.
Occupied distance = (7 – 1) x 9 = 54m.
Thus, total unoccupied distance = (84 – 54) = 30m.
● As, the one who likes Banana sits 57m from point Z, thus distance of the one who likes Banana from
point P = (84 – 57) = 27m from point P, that means the one who likes Banana sits fourth from point
P.
● The distance between the one who likes Banana and Deval, who likes Orange is 18m, thus one
person sits between Deval and the one who likes Banana, that means we have two possible places
for Deval, in case (1) Deval sits second from right end, in case (2) Deval sits sixth from right end.
● Three person sits between the one who likes Orange and Menu, that means in case (1) Menu sits
sixth from right end, in case (2) Menu sits second from right end.
● Menu sits immediate right of the one who likes Papaya, who neither sits at extreme end nor sits
adjacent to the one who likes Guava, that means in case (2) the one who likes Papaya sits third
from right end and case (1) is not valid.
Based on above given information we have:

Case (1) is not valid as the one who likes Papaya doesn’t sit at end at extreme end.
Again, we have:
● Three person sits between the one who likes Guava and Kajal, who doesn’t like Papaya, that means
in case (2a) the one who likes Guava sits at right end, in case (2b) the one who likes Guava sits fifth
from right end.
● Somya sits at a distance of 18m from Parul, who neither likes Banana nor Papaya.
● One person sits between Sam and Somya, that means in case (2b) Sam sits third from right end and
case (2a) is not valid.
● Pihu sits exactly between the one who likes Mango and the one who likes Grapes.
● The one who likes Litchi and the one who likes Mango sits together, that means the one who likes
Mango sits at right end.
Based on above given information we have final arrangement as follow:

Seating Arrangement Questions 2019

Case (2a) is not valid as Somya sits at a distance of 18m from Parul and one person sits between Somya
and Sam.
Again, we have:
For line segment LD:-
● The one who works in Myntra sits at an even distance from point ‘L’, only possible even distance
from point ‘L’ are 26m, 52m & 78m. (52m is not possible because we have to put three persons
between myntra and tom ,52 m comes in middle of the line)
● Three person sits between the one who works in Myntra and Tom, who sits immediate right of the
one who works in HP, that means in case (1) the one who works in Myntra sits at a distance of 26m
from point ‘L’, in case (2) the one who works in Myntra sits at a distance of 78m from point ‘L’.
● One person sits between the one who works in HP and Ajeet, who neither works in Adobe nor
works in Dell, that means in case (1) & case (2) Ajeet sits fourth from point ‘L’.
Based on above given information we have:

Again, we have:
● Two person sits between Khushi and the one who works in TCS, who sits adjacent to the one who
works in Myntra, that means in case (1a) the one who works in TCS sits immediate left of the one
who works in Myntra, in case (1b) the one who works in TCS sits immediate right of the one who
works in Myntra and case (2) is not valid.
● The one who works in Adobe sits at a distance of 26m left of the one who works in Amazon, since,
Ajeet doesn’t work in Adobe, thus in case (1a) Khushi works in Adobe, in case (2a) Tom works in
Amazon.

Seating Arrangement Questions 2019
● Number of person right of the one who works in HCL is one more than the number of person left of
Monty.
● Monty sits immediate right of Riya, that means in case (1a) Monty sits third from point ‘L’, in case
(1b) Monty sits sixth from point ‘L’.
● At least two person sits between the one who works in Dell and Ravi, that means in case (1a) Ravi
sits immediate left of Tom and case (1b) is not valid.
From above given information we have final arrangement as follow:

Case (2) is not valid as two person sits between Khushi and the one who works in TCS and case (1b) is not
valid as at least two person sits between the one who works in Dell and Ravi.

Explanation:
We have:
● The one who likes 2 sits 5m from left end, since only such combinations are (2, 3), (1, 1, 3) & (1, 2,
2).
● Two person sits between the one who likes 2 and R, who likes 8 and sits facing north.
● R neither sits at end of the row nor sits adjacent to G, that means we have four possible cases, in
case (1) the one who likes 2 sits (2 + 3)m from left end, in case (2) the one who likes 2 sits (3 + 2)m
from left end, in case (3) the one who likes 2 sits (1 + 3 + 1)m sits from left end, in case (4) the one
who likes 2 sits (2 + 1 + 2)m from left end.
● G sits 4m left of the one who likes 8 and is 1m right of the one who likes 5, since only possible such
combination is (1, 4).
● The one who likes 5 sits three places away from M, who doesn’t like odd number.
● M sits immediate right of the one who likes 6, thus in case (1a) M sits at right end and the one who
likes 5 sits fourth from right end, in case (1b) M sits second from left end and the one who likes 5
sits fourth from right end, in case (2a) M sits at right end and the one who likes 5 sits fourth from
right end, in case (2b) M sits second from left end and the one who likes 5 sits fourth from the right
end, in case (3) & case (4) M sits third from left end and the one who likes 5 sits third from right
end.
Based on above given information we have:

Seating Arrangement Questions 2019
Explanation:
We have:
● The one who works in HCL sits 12m right of F, who sits at left end, since none of the adjacent
person sits at same distance, thus possible combination of distance are (8m, 4m) & (4m, 8m), that
means in case (1) the one who works in HCL sits third from left end at a distance of (8m + 4m), in
case (2) the one who works in HCL sits third from left end at a distance of (4m + 8m).
● The one who works in HCL sits four places right of D, that means D sits third from right end and sits
facing south.
● The one who works in HAL sits next to D, who neither works in Dell nor Wipro, that means in case
(1a) & case (2a) the one who works in HAL sits immediate right of D, in case (1b) & case (2b) the
one who works in HAL sits immediate left of D.
● The one who works in HAL sits third to right of R, who works in SAP, that means in case (1a) & case
(2a) R sits facing south at right end, in case (1b) & case (2b) R sits facing north second to right of D.
● Two person sits between D and P, who neither works in DRDO nor TCS.
Based on above given information we have:

Again, we have:
● K sits second to left of P and doesn’t work in HAL.
● Four person sits between K and the one who works in HP, who doesn’t sit adjacent to F, that means
P sits facing north and K sits adjacent to F.
● The one who works in HP sits immediate left of the one who works in Dell, that means in case (1a)
& case (2a) the one who works in Dell sits facing north, in case (1b) & case (2b) the one who works
in Dell sits facing south.
● S sits 14m from the one who works in HCL, that means only possible combination of distance are (8
+ 6), (6 + 8) & (4 + 6 + 4).
● S neither works in HAL nor works in TCS, that means in case (1a) & case (2a) S sits immediate right
of P and case (1b) & case (2b) is not valid.
● Distance between the one who works in HAL and P is 10m, that means only possible combination is
(6 + 4) & (4 + 6), thus, in case (1a) the distance between the one who works in HCL and S is (8 + 6) &
case (2a) is not valid.

Seating Arrangement Questions 2019

Case (1b) & case (2b) are not valid as S sits 14m from the one who works in HCL, case (2a) is not valid as
none of the adjacent person sits at same gap.
Again, we have:
● The one who works in Wipro sits second to right of H, that means in case (1a) F works in Wipro and
H sits third from left end facing south, in case (1c) S works in Wipro and H sits third from left end
facing north, in case (1d) P works in Wipro and H sits fourth from right end facing south.
● The one who works in Wipro sits 22m from W, that means in case (1d) W sits second from right end
and distance between P and W is (6 + 4 + 8 + 4), case (1a) & case (1c) is not valid.
● Since, at least two pair of person sits at a distance of 6m, thus distance between W and R is 6m.
● The one who works in DRDO sits third to right of the one who works in ONGC.
● Number of person left of B is half the number of person left of the one who works in ONGC, that
means B must sits facing north and the one who works in ONGC sits facing south.
● The one who works in TCS and B sits facing in same direction but opposite to the one who works in
DRDO, that means F sits facing north and K sits facing south.

115) Answer: E
Explanation:
Clearly, if D (21) sits facing away from center, then no person sits second to right of D.
Hence, option E is correct choice.

116) Answer: D
Explanation:
Clearly, Q and H sits facing away from center.
Hence, option D is correct choice.

117) Answer: B
Explanation:
Clearly, we have:
The one who likes 21 sits third to right of P, that means D sits at position marked 9.
D sits second to right of S and S doesn’t sit adjacent to H, that means S sits at position marked 8 and sits
facing center.
Thus, K sits fourth to left of S (33).
Hence, option B is correct choice.

118) Answer: B
Explanation:
Clearly, required difference = (16 – 5) = 11
Hence, option B is correct choice.

• The one who likes 21 sits immediate left of M, who doesn’t like 12, that means in case (1a) V sits
facing the one who likes 12, in case (1c) V sits facing T, in case (2a) V sits immediate right of the one
who likes 8, in case (2b) V sits facing the one who likes 12, in case (2c) V sits facing T and case (1b) is
not valid.
Based on above given information we have:

Case (1b) is not valid as one person sits between V and S, who sits facing the one who likes 21.
Again, we have:
• H sits immediate left of W, who sits facing the one who likes 26, that means in case (1a) H sits
facing T, in case (2b) W sits immediate left of B and case (1c), case (2a) & case (2c) is not valid.
• The one who likes 5 sits facing P, who neither likes 3 nor likes perfect square number, as only
remaining person who sits in inner circle is P, thus in case (1a) P sits facing G and in case (2b) P sits
facing T.
• One person sits between the one who likes 5 and the one who likes 36, thus in case (1a) T likes 36
and in case (2b) G likes 36.
• Difference between the number liked by T and D is 15, thus only such possible combinations are
(16, 31) & (21, 36), that means in case (1a) D likes 21 and case (2b) is not valid.
Based on above given information we have:

Case (1c), case (2a) & case (2c) are not valid as H sits immediate left of W, who sits facing the one who
likes 26 and case (2b) is not valid as difference between the number liked by T and D is 15.
Again, we have:
• K neither likes 12 nor sits facing the one who likes 3, that means K must like 26.
• The number liked by S is 7 more than number liked by K, thus S must like 33.
• As, neither P nor W likes 3, thus B must like 3.
• As, P doesn’t like perfect square, thus W likes 9 and P likes 31.
Based on above given information we have:

After final arrangement rearrangement to the square boundary can be done as follow:
• The one who likes 31 throws the die and the sum of numbers is 7, that means P moves to position
marked 5 and sit facing center.

• The one who likes 8 throws the die and the sum of numbers is 10, that means H sits position
marked 11 and sits facing away from center.
• The one who likes 26 throws the die and the sum is 6, K sits at position marked 12 and sits facing
center.
• The one who likes 12 throws the die and the sum of the number is 4, Q sits at position marked 2

Based on above given information we have:

Case (1) is not valid as the one who likes Yellow, sits facing the one, who sits second to left of the one
who likes Black & case (2b) is not valid as A neither sits facing the one who likes Black nor sits facing O.
Again, we have:
• Since, the one who likes Black and the one who likes Red doesn’t sit in same row, that means the
one who likes Red sits at left end of row 2.
• One person sits between P and O.
• O neither sits facing the one who likes Brown nor sits facing the one who likes Orange, that means

171) Answer: C
Explanation:
Clearly, 1st person sits third to left of 2nd person, 3rd person sits adjacent to 1st person, thus combination C
doesn’t follow the rule.
Hence, option C is correct choice.

172) Answer: D
Explanation:
Clearly, T sits second to left of R.
Hence, option D is correct choice.

Explanation:
We have:
• M is only daughter of S, who is married to Q’s only daughter.
• Since, S is married to Q’s only daughter, that means S must be father of M.
• Q’s gender is opposite to S.
• T is brother-in-law of Q and is unmarried member of the family, that means Q must be married to
T’s brother.
• Let’s say (1) is brother of T and S is married to (2).
• P and M are unmarried member of the family and are off opposite gender.
Based on above given information we have:

Again, we have:
• Q sits third to left of M.
• Since, P is unmarried member of the family, thus P can’t be (1) & (2) at any possible condition.
• Only two married couples are there in the family.
• R is the daughter of U, since M is only daughter of S, thus S and U can’t be married.
• Either both or none of the parent is alive, that means U must be father of R and is married to Q.
• P is an immediate neighbor of P’s father and P’s mother.
• P and R doesn’t sit together, that means P is not the child of R
• If P is the son of S then A should be Mother of P but, Two person sits between P’s father and A from
this statement P is also not a son of S, thus only possible condition is P is son of U.
• Since, gender of P and M are different, thus P must be brother of R.
That means we have two possible position of P, in case (1) P sits immediate left of Q, in case (2) P sits
immediate right of Q.
