Please deploy three Virtual Machine servers in your VMware Environment with the following HW\SW
specifications (Please read below for Hyper-V environments):
VM 1 – Veeam Backup and Replication Server, - Manages Backup Proxy\Repository servers, backup policies,
provides centralized .NET console and HTTPS interface.
VM 2 – Veeam Backup Proxy\ Repository Server, - Retrieves data from VMware environment using HotAdd
technology, performs data compression and de duplication and writes data to backup storage.
For Hyper-V environments, will also need to consider that Off-Host Backup Proxy roles will be installed on Hyper-V
hosts in order to process backups.
2. Backup Storage Requirement:
Please create an additional LUN on your storage, (1 – 6 TB as much as is available) present it to ESXi environment.
The LUN shall be attached to VM2 Veeam Proxy\Repository server as a RDM Volume in Physical Compatibility
Mode and used as a temporary backup storage\repository for PoC.
3. VM Network Requirements:
• Veeam POC VMs should be placed in ESXi Management Network vLAN, if they are in the different vLAN
there should be no ports blocked.
• Please provide four IP addresses for the POC environment – three will be used by Veeam VMs and fourth
is reserved for Veeam Virtual LAB\ FLR appliance.
4. Software Distributives:
Please download Veeam Availability Suite ISO from our website, extract the archive and copy it to both VM1 and
VM3 desktops:
https://www.veeam.com/data-center-availability-suite.html
For the POC we will require an Active Directory User Account with the following permissions:
