101 WORD
TRANSFORMATION SENTENCES
Hi and welcome to 101 Word Transformation Sentences.

First of all, I’d like to thank you personally for downloading this ebook. I put a lot
of effort into researching and writing and I appreciate your interest.

This book contains 101 sentences to practice FCE’s Use of English Part 3, i.e. word
transformation.

• Who’s this ebook for?

Ideally, if you’re downloading this ebook, you’re either an English teacher or a
student. If you’re a teacher, you don’t need any further explanations; if you’re a
student, however, you should know that this book provides you with tons of
practice for UoE Part 3 of the First (FCE) exam. In order to make the most of the
sentences in this book, you should already be familiar with this part of the exam
and with some word transformation rules and techniques. These aren’t explained
here, but you can read some on the blog (click below to read on the blog):
- Word Formation: The Basics
- Word Transformation #1: Nouns & Suffixes
- Word Transformation #2: Adjectives & Suffixes
- Word Transformation #3: 10 Nouns Ending in -TH

• How to go about this ebook?

101 sentences is a little too much to do in one single day if what you want is to
really improve and understand what the changes are and why they happen. If I
were to use this book to learn and study, I would do around 10-11 a day. That way
you can really focus on each word and its derivatives. Don’t overdo it and,
especially, don’t overdo it without making practice useful.

• Why these particular words?

The words used in this book have been selected from past Cambridge English
exams and from my own experience as an English teacher preparing students
for First (FCE). The words in this ebook are extremely common in the exams and
knowing them will undoubtedly help you pass the exam more easily.

some of it, please get in touch with me before you do so. Thanks!

• Did you spot any mistakes?

If you spotted a mistake, please let me know. I hate typos and other mistakes,
but I’m only human! If you let me know, I’ll correct it straight away!

Without further ado, I’ll let you get on with your work. I wish you the best and
hope you enjoy this ebook. :-)
