OUR LIFE ON LAND &
HOW WE CAN MAKE A
DIFFERENCE!
As a class, together we can help
the health of our planet by
contributing in a sustainable way.
To make a difference in our school
community, we will design and
construct a sustainable 'Class
Garden and Worm Farm'.
STEP TWO: DESIGN &
CREATE
It's time to use your imagination and
get creative! Using your research,
create your very own 'Garden & Worm
Farm' design to incorporate in our
class and school community.
All creations will be displayed around
the classroom, where you must vote
for your favourite design (other than
your own). The most voted design will
come to life!
STEP FOUR: APPLY
& OBSERVE
Great work! Our class garden has
now been planted, and our worm
farm is up and running. Now, we
must collect the properties and
rich nutrients from our worm farm,
and apply them to our garden to
make it grow. Then sit back and
observe what happens next!

STEP ONE: RESEARCH
& DEVELOPMENT
What do you already know about
'Sustainability'? What can you
research or ask our visiting guest
speaker, about topics relating to
Sustainability? Such as:
Gardening, Herbs & Plants
The Australian Climate
Worm Farming
Sustaining a garden without the
use of chemicals.
STEP THREE:
COLLECT & BUILD
Now that we have our winning
design, we can now begin to
collect resources and build our
Garden & Worm Farm! Luckily we
have some extra hands; interested
students, teachers and parents
can help with this process.
Let's get building!
STEP FIVE: REVIEW
& EVALUATE
It's time to review and evaluate!
As a class, let's discuss how we
have contributed in a sustainable
manner, and make predictions
about what we believe will
happen, as we continue to grow
our class garden and worm farm
into Term 4.
