All ecological drainage products shall be manufactured from polypropylene or other material
approved by the Design Engineer. The subsurface ecological drainage products used shall
have the dimensions and physical properties stipulated in their respective product category.
The subsurface ecological drainage products shall be classified in few categories:-
Storage module and drainage cell are permeable modular drainage product suited to any
subsurface drainage application and underground storage. It is ideal to design both vertical
and horizontal drainage systems, the tile-shaped storage module and drainage cell provides a
structural blanket, (or sheet) form of sub-surface drainage. Storage module and drainage cell
are manufactured from selected recycled polypropylene and proprietary mix, making it
indefinitely resistant to chemical and bacterial attack when installed in an underground
situation.

in BIOECODS
Storage Module, drainage cell and turf cell shall be available in standard sizes:
Other storage heights are achievable with various orientations of the modules. However it
should be noted that the maximum structural capacity of the modules is achieved in the
width, length & depth configuration as described above.

- Bio-Ecological Drainage System (BIOECODS) -
The properties of the storage module and drainage cell shall be as follow:
(b) Geotextiles
All soil and subsurface product interface shall have a layer of geotextile to prevent fines from
entering the drainage system. The geotextile used in this project shall be a suitable geotextile
fabric and accordance with the technical specification or directed by the Design Engineer.
The filter material used in conjunction with the ecological drainage system shall be clean
river sand (Figure 5a) normally used in construction of subsoil drains to give better
infiltration rates. The particle size distribution grading (Figure 5b) shall be in accordance with
the specification.
