Tips for Zane State College Students:

• You do not have to wait to graduate from Zane State College before you apply to Franklin
University. Your application is good for one year - so most students apply 1-2 terms before
finishing their associate degree.
• Apply early so you can take advantage of the scholarships available for transfer students –
deadlines are April 1 (summer term), July 1 (fall term) and November 1 (spring term) each year.
• Reach out to your Franklin University Admissions Advisor as soon as you know you are
interested in continuing your education. Your advisor can help you stay on track throughout the
admissions and transfer process through early advising right on the Zane State College campus.

How will my credits transfer?

You are encouraged to contact your Franklin University Admissions Advisor. Your advisor can look at a
copy of your unofficial transcript and provide you with an unofficial evaluation that will make available
classes that transfer, classes you would have left to complete your bachelor’s degree, as well as the
classes that can be took at Zane State College – paying Zane State College’s tuition rate the third year.

If you decide to move forward, then you can complete a free undergraduate application and send in
official transcripts from all the colleges you have previously attended - to earn maximum transferability
and acceptance for admission to Franklin University. Your Franklin University Admissions Advisor will be
there with you all the way. Your advisor will even register you for your first term at Franklin University.

You can also visit our MyTransfer Credit tool to help you determine the transferability of your credits
into the specific major you are interested in pursuing. If you come across a course that is not listed, that
does not mean those credits are non-transferable, they may just have to be manually evaluated.

What about credit for professional experience or courses I took through my employer?
