APPEAL FOR RE-INCLUSION OF PARA-SOCCER INTO THE NATIONAL

SPORTS FESTIVAL

On behalf of the Para-soccer Federation of Nigeria Board and the entire

Para-soccer family in Nigeria, I am pleased to passionately write and
appeal to you and the good management team in the Ministry to use your
good offices to re-include Para-soccer sport into the National Sports
Festival as a COMPULSORY SPORT not optional in the biggest
National Sports fiesta in Nigeria.

Sir, we need to encourage, develop and promote Para-soccer, as the

founding Nation of this great and most entertaining disabled team Sport,
which will be easily exported to the World as the best product that can be
used by many Nations as rehabilitation and economic empowerment
tools to polio survivors globally.

SIR, IT MAY INTEREST YOU TO NOTE THE FOLLOWING: -

That Para-soccer is the only disabled sport invented in Nigeria by a

Nigerian at Lagos in 1988 under my leadership, NOW 32 YEARS OLD
AGO.

 The sport was demonstrated in three National Sports Festivals,

        Imo 1998
        Bauchi 2000
         Edo 2002
 Para-soccer has featured as a medal scoring sport in Four National
Sports Festivals.
        Abuja 2004
        Gate Way Games (Abeokuta) 2006
        Kada Games (Kaduna) 2009
        Abuja 2018
 

Para-soccer is being played in over Twenty-Five States in Nigeria.

The development of Para-soccer had cut-across all the six geo-political

zones of the Country.

1.     The sport was equally demonstrated during COJA (All Africa) GAMES
held in Abuja, 2003. Seventeen (17) years after the continental
demonstration, we are not encouraged again for any opportunity for a
demonstration outside the COUNTRY, we pray it will happen during your
time.

2.     I am delighted to intimate you that Para-soccer is now being played in

some African Countries e.g. Ghana, Benin Republic, Niger, and Togo.

3.     Para-soccer provides job opportunities for many youths with disability
in the Country, unfortunately, some are now losing the jobs simply
because, the sport is out of the National Sports Festivals.

Once again, I am passionately appealing to the Ministry and the National

Council of Sports Members to kindly provide us with the enabling
environment and opportunity to promote and develop Para-soccer AS
THE ONLY DISABLED SPORT INVENTED IN OUR GREAT
COUNTRY.

We are very optimistic that for the interest of the Nation’s Sports
Development, our request will be positively and favorably considered and
approve Para soccer as a compulsory sport in the FESTIVAL to avoid
future occurrence of our removal, please.

are honoured and privileged by your present.

re-inclusion of Para-soccer as a COMPULSORY SPORT in the biggest
National Sports fester in Nigeria as the founding Nation of this great and most
entertaining disabled team Sport.
