To Whom It May Concern:

I have been asked to write a letter of recommendation for Janel Sanders and I am most
pleased to be able to do so. Janel was a student of mine in an important methods class at
the University of San Diego and is in the top 1% of all candidates whom I have taught.
She was also a member of an elite cohort of candidates who were selected to earn a
Masters of Education degree along with the California Multiple Subjects credential.

During the semester I had many opportunities to observe Janel in a teaching role due to
the interactive manner in which the class was designed. She was responsible for creating
and presenting elementary curriculum materials to her peers and for developing an in-
depth reflective portfolio of her learnings. She impressed me with her knowledge-base in
teaching methodology, her effective style of presentation and her collaborative skills in
working with others. Her written project was superb, as well.

Janel successfully designed an interdisciplinary, standards-based curriculum unit. Her

strength was centered on the use of differentiated, hands-on instructional strategies in the
teaching of Common Core content.

Finally, Janel Sanders has a strong commitment to young people and seeing them succeed
and works especially well with at-risk students. Therefore, I highly recommend her for a
teaching position in your school.

Respectfully submitted,

C. Bobbi Hansen, Ed.D.
