The Organization of the Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM) is a statutory body

formed as a result of the merger of the Registrar of Companies (ROC) with the Office of the
Registrar of Businesses (ROB) in Malaysia which regulates companies and businesses in
Malaysia. SSM commenced operations on 16 April 2002.

SSM is also an agency under the Ministry of Domestic Trade (KPDNKK). The establishment
of SSM is a step in transforming the government's strategy to create a conducive, dynamic
and competitive environment.

SSM's main activity is as a company incorporation and business registration agency as well
as providing company and business information to the public. As a key driver towards
increasing the level of corporate governance, SSM performs its function of regulating
compliance with corporate law and business registration through comprehensive enforcement
and monitoring activities to ensure the positive development of the corporate and business
sectors for the country.
