possibilities with modal verbs. This video gives a basic description of how to use them in the passive
voice.

Forming passive sentences
Exercise

A reporter says a woman in Ohio suffered a stroke after she found out that
she had unknowingly married her absentee father.
These verbs have two corresponding passives:
People thought that the earth was flat.
It was thought that the earth was flat.
People say that this house is haunted.
This house is said to be haunted.
People often called him an idiot.
He was often called an idiot.
People know that she has left the country.
She is known to have left the country.
People said that there was a monster in the lake.
There was said to be a monster in the lake.
ACTIVE
A - Alice gave us that vase
B - Alice gave that vase to us
Passive
We were given the vase (by Alice)
That vase was given (to) us (by Alice)
1) TO GIVE
Verbs such as GIVE take both a DIRECT OBJECT and an INDIRECT OBJECT in two patterns:
A - VERB + INDIRECT OBJECT + DIRECT OBJECT
B - VERB + DIRECT OBJECT + PREPOSITION + INDIRECT OBJECT

I enjoy singing.
I drank a cup of coffee
before leaving.
Swimming is good exercise.
We decided to leave.
It's difficult to get up early.
I came to London to study English.
