Certified and approved intrinsically safe power supply must be used. Hence the above power supply deserve no further considerations for intrinsic safety. : The coil is shunted by bridge diodes to nullify the inductive effect of the col, Since the coll and diodes are totally encapsulated, the diodes form integral part of the solenoid coll, The solenoid coll, connected with an external 32VDC/80mA (max.) ower source was tested in Spark Test Apparatus with Group IC gas miauré as per clause 10.4 of 1S-5780-2002 individually. There was no ignition of the gas mixture. CREEPAGE DISTANCE & CLEARANCE: Creepage distance and clearance between the input terminals is greater than 3mm and complies with Table 4 of 1S: 5780-2002. TEMPERATURE RISE: As the coll is totally encapsulated and at 32VDC/80mA (max.) ower supply the maximum temperature class for intrinsically safe coll comes under T6 temperature dass with respect to 50 degree centigrade ambient. INSULATION: The insulation between Intrinsically safe coil and the enclosure withstood ‘an ac test voltage of 500V rms for one min. INTERNAL WIRING: The insuiated conductors of intrinsically safe coll withstood an ac test voltage of SOOV rms for one minute, SMALL COMPONENTS TEST: The ignition test was conducted on the components as per the dause 10.7 of 1S:5780-2002 there was no explosion during the testing IMPACT TEST: 1kg mass of hardened steel fallen vertically on the surface of the enclosure to create impact eneray for Gr. II apparatus, (CABLE PULL TEST: The cable pull test conducted satisfactorily as per the clause 10.13 of 15:5780-2002.
