Art is an expression of life, which means it expresses emotions.

Creation that allows for

interpretation of any kind is art. I have read somewhere that art is a human skill as opposed to
nature, a skill applied to music, painting, poetry etc. I believe that nature is art as well. If something is
made a certain way, then it's unique in its own way.
Artists will use their form of artwork to pass along their views and feelings. Their importance
and value to society has remained the same throughout history. The images that they produce may
express an innovative way of seeing the world or society around us. Interpreting art depends on a
person experiences, their visionary thoughts, culture, and associations. Art is like love in that there
are so many definitions and examples for each. Therefore, I believe art is not perfection; art is
something that continues to develop as it is seen, meaning to open all human capacities, thoughts
and emotions. Art is a creation that lets observer interpret the art any way they see it and the artists
to portray their art in whatever way they want whether it is viewed the same way as the observer or
not.
Art is to enable those experiences to be intelligible and recognized within the thoughts and
emotions of the world. A dot on a piece of paper for example. What was the artist thinking when he
created this? The person looking at the picture would have to find a meaning for him or herself. Is
that art? I would have to say yes, because the work posed a question and the artist gives me a
feeling of wonder, can I associate myself to this dot. Can that particular artwork be random? Yes,
because that dot makes the person think and question. Art can also have intentions, which suggests
that the artist might intend to make the person think, associate themselves with the dot. The viewer
may feel that the dot is just a dot, that it has no meaning to them.

Art has been a part of our life for as long as humanity has existed. For thousands of years people
have been creating, looking at, criticizing, and enjoying art. I would like to address three questions:
what is art, what is its purpose, and why has it survived for this long.
First, what is art? Humanity has faced this question for many centuries. How can we
distinguish between fine art and a beautiful poster? How can we call both Malevich's "Black Square"
and Da Vinci's "La Joconde" art, yet not include some people's paintings into this category? I believe
that the only things that distinguish these works are the artist and the artist's objective. The
connection between what the artist means to achieve and what he achieves through the medium is
what I believe classifies art. If what the artist meant to say is understood by at least one person in
this world, when we can safely call that piece art. What classifies a masterpiece, however, is when
not only one person understands what the artist was trying to say with the piece but when the
majority does. Many people believe that the fine arts are elitist. Nevertheless, art is not something
that you have to study to understand and enjoy. Art is something that captures the eye. Whether the
artist is trying to communicate an emotion, an idea or something else, the most important thing is
how well the audience receives it. However, art can also be shocking, something new. If a creative
piece by an artist can spark the discussion of whether that piece is art or not, then it is art. Art is
something that inspires people, something that transports us into different realities and moves us
into the subconscious places that we did not know existed.
What is the purpose of art? Art has some very practical purposes. For example, an art class
might take a trip out to a local gallery simply for the purpose of looking at paintings and trying to
reproduce...
Art can mean so many things to someone, almost as if everyone were to have their own
connotative meaning for it. The true definition of art is unclear due to the vast number of
meanings of art, but seeing art from the perspective of a teenager going to high school
in comparison to an adult can either be similar or different. Everyone has different views
and opinions, but sometimes the views and or opinions might just be the same or pretty
similar to one another. Not only is art seen in different ways, done in different ways, and
felt in different ways, but it’s also admired and valued in different ways. Art in general is
just so vague that it can basically mean anything which we conceive as art, and that’s
what makes art beautiful and unique.

The most basic and general meaning of what art is can be told as the creation of
someone’s creativity and or imagination, which can contain one’s visions, expressions
and even emotions or feelings. However, in reality art means much more than that, it’s
not just the simple creation of something visual through ones imagination, although this
is true, art has a much more meaningful meaning to it. Why do you think people are so
fond of it to even go to the extremes of paying extraordinary amounts of money for a
painting, “the scream” for example, which was sold for $119 million, the most anyone
has paid for an art-piece. Not only do we pay extremely high prices for art, but we also
go through complex conditions just to view it, for example going all the way to the other
side of the world in unpleasing circumstances such as intense heat or cold to see a
painting or a sculpture. We are connected to art in some form of way, which is simply
unexplainable.

Art is fascinating, special, magical, beautiful, educational, historical, and abstract at

times. All the words mentioned describe what art is, it’s whatever you want it to be. Like
in the psychologists’ office, they may show you some Rorschach/inkblot paintings where
you may see something different from what someone else may see it is the same for
art. It’s just how ever your imagination observes what you see. Art is a very vague word
since it has so many different meanings however, most of the meanings go beyond the
point that art is just the visual outcome of an artist’s work. They go on a more inner
emotional scale, as I like to say “In art you can release your emotions out in a way that
would be impossible with anything other than art.” People actually bond to what art you
have created, and I find that amazingly awesome.

Art can be considered as innate to us humans; the reason being so is that art dates
back to ages in the past, which shows how we still keep the tradition alive. Art is a
fascinating subject, which everyone seems to admire and praise, although art has no
word to explain what it really is, you can only know what it is by making art, and
surrounding yourself with art. Art is the only way you can let go of everything and create
something for someone else or yourself to connect to and feel the meaning or message
of what you created. Art in itself is a majestic entity that will never get boring and will
never be forgotten and replaced as an out of style thing, due to its importance and
popularity. Art is magical.
