Consciousness: Your Door To Reality Part 1

If I were, in one word, asked to give a reason why some in life seem to walk the extraordinary or transcendent road while others remain enslaved to the
dictates of natural forces I would answer –‘consciousness’.

Consciousness is the state of being aware of what is going on around you. Consciousness is therefore awareness.

In the beginning, man was created a living being; with a body outside to contact the natural material world, and with a spirit inside to be in touch with the
spirit world of God. With his soul, man would be conscious of either of these worlds to the degree he wills. The human soul, therefore, is the seat of
consciousness or awareness.

Taking this a step further, your consciousness is what dictates reality to you. There’s nothing real but what you are conscious of .Whatever you are
unconscious or unaware of is unreal to you.

Now, it is with the different faculties of our being – physical or spiritual – that we are given or develop our consciousness .We may will to be led by our spirit
instinct, which is bound to develop in us a higher state of consciousness, or be ruled by the physical faculties, which are bound to the natural and physical
elements and therefore bound to limit our consciousness or awareness to what is natural only.

You now do realize how important it is for you to understand this; don’t you?

You see, to the blind man, the world of light is unreal. The world of sounds is unreal to the deaf man but aren’t both of these worlds very real to you? Aren’t
they your experiences every waking moment? They are! And this is not because they are a creation of your own utopia, but rather because you are
advantaged with faculties over the blind or the deaf. And, it is with those faculties of sight and sound you posses that you are aware or conscious of these
respective worlds.

Have you yet realized that God seems to be more of a reality to some people than to you? Haven’t you admired the lives and experiences some have had
and wished you would as well have them. Be honest. Probably in your quest to experience the higher life of God you have come to the conclusion that it
was never meant for you? That you were born a loser! Can I be honest with you, you were never born to lose but to walk with God and be victorious in
every situation!

Do I know what I am talking about? I certainly do! This is my life’s story; I walk with God in a real way. He speaks, and I hear. I see visions of him .The spirit
world is not, to me, something I merely hear or read about but it is my experience. And, I know what it is to derive my hope, yes, and my very livelihood,
from the infinite world of the spirit –Gods world.

So what does it take to experience this higher life? Well, incline your soul – the seat of your consciousness – to what is infinite, to what is God like. When
you do this, you will develop a higher state of consciousness. And, this will channel you to that higher reality.

Your soul comprises of your mind, will and emotions. These faculties of the soul must be attuned to what is infinite or what transcends the finite realm of
the physical for them to be transformed thereby. When your soul is constantly attuned with words or thoughts from above, it will take on that higher form,
and in turn, awaken you to those higher realities of life beyond the grasp of the natural senses.

To one man, there is the lord Jesus Christ, angels and spiritual forces in his world .To another man, however, his world is void of God or anything that
transcends himself .He is alone in his world, and his expectations cannot transcend his physical abilities and resources. His life starts and ends with
himself. What is the difference between these two men? ” Their consciousness!”

The reality one experiences is determined by what he or she wills to be conscious of – physical or spiritual, finite or infinite. If you choose the finite, your life
will be bound to the elements or realities of the physical world. However, if you choose the infinite, your world will be a manifestation of the infinite, of the
higher realities of God.

Consciousness: Your Door To Reality Part 2

God is not lost, nor has He chosen to hide Himself from His creation. When it does appear so, leading to the quest many have embarked on to find Him, it
is precisely because man is either lost or somewhat hidden from God’s realm.

From the genesis of time, this has always been the reason God seemed hidden from man – man’s ‘fallen’ state. Do you remember when the first man
Adam, like so many today, attempted to hide himself from God. Who found the other? It was God, not man, because, unlike man, God is never lost. God is
always where He was and is and will be eternally.

Now, after being ‘found’ and Born Again, many still lapse back into a state in which God’s realities seem lost to them, and they do not understand from
whence they have fallen. For such, it is expedient that they understand the role their consciousness plays to either open up or close down the realm of God
to them.

It’s most probable that word has reached you about so-called ‘open heavens’ or ‘closed heavens’. Hasn’t it? Well, that myth is only a symptom of the
ignorance folks have about consciousness and its role in experiencing realities at different levels. So, the conclusion that there must be a ‘closed heaven’
is arrived at when at the moment folks seem to encounter difficulties in experiencing God. And the reverse conclusion is reached when God’s realities
seem easily accessed.

You may remember, however, that the heavens were opened the day Jesus was baptized, and, there’s no record thereafter that they were ever closed
again. Why some, therefore, insinuate about ‘open heavens’ or ‘closed heavens’, I do not know.

It is never an issue of either an open or closed heaven, but that of either an open or closed consciousness to God.

No man or woman living on this side of the Cross – after Jesus’ death and resurrection – should ever subscribe to this ‘hidden God’ or ‘out-of-reach God’
misconception. Don’t you remember that after Jesus’ death, the veil into God’s dwelling place (the holy of holies) was rent open, signifying that God would
from then be openly accessible to whomever?

What a great relief it is to know that God is not playing ‘hide and seek’ with us! God’s desire is that we may find Him more real everyday than everything
else we experience here on earth.

There is an instruction to this end. Romans 12:2 says, ‘And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye
may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God’.

Accordingly, we may only prove or experience God’s realities by transcending this present finite world or age, and this can only be arrived at by having our
minds or soul or consciousness renewed by words or perceptions from the infinite realm of God!

Therefore, we must give ourselves over to all that tends to develop us towards the infinite, to the attainment of a closer companioning with God.

Consciousness: Your Door To Reality Part 3

In our quest to find the relationship between consciousness and reality we must necessarily pose the question why anything exists at all, instead of there
simply being nothing.

Nothing can exist for you that does not have a specific effect upon you. And without having an effect upon someone else, neither can it exist for them. Turn
your back towards any object you previously had in view and what happens? That’s right, the object simply disappears! Actually, the object remains in
existence, but for you it becomes non-existent at that moment.

Now, that is true on the physical level of existence as well as on the spiritual plane, your consciousness being the knob of attunement.

We know that whatever we seek to comprehend reaches us physically through the five senses – sight, smell, touch, hearing and taste. And that which is
perceived is that which is real – to us. Someday, however, we will make a discovery which some, this writer inclusive, have made that there is a greater
range of existence or reality than can be perceived by the natural field of vision. At that moment, the infinite field of reality swings open to us, then we are
able to view or perceive ‘hidden’ realities.

I have experienced transcendent moments where I have been able to view such entities of another realm such as angels and demons. This, at times, has
appeared as though it were those spiritual entities that did break into my realm. However, several times it was because I, through a process of attunement,
altered my state of consciousness beyond my natural field of vision to a higher state of consciousness.

You too can develop your consciousness to a level it transcends your natural field of vision. What awe-striking discoveries await you on this higher phase
of existence! You see, behind all manifestations on this physical plane of existence are spiritual forces and entities. And so reality is realized on this higher
phase of existence.

Again, attunement of consciousness is key in unveiling higher realms of reality. Reality unfolds where conscious attention is focused.

The non-miraculous life is lived in the realm of the senses. It is a life that anticipates nothing but what reason can account for. However, deep-seated within
man is a yearning for a transcendent life. No one can ever claim in all honesty that there’s never been a moment in their life when they’ve yearned for a
miracle. This deep-seated yearning for the miraculous actually testifies of a higher level of existence within our being.

Now, our consciousness must be brought in harmony with this higher phase of existence for us to experience the transcendent life. For you see, our lives
are a manifestation of either the expanse or limitation we set in our consciousness.
