EXTENDED METAPHOR

In her chapter "A Tour of the Galaxy", Via compares her family to a galaxy:

August is the Sun. Me and Mom and Dad are planets orbiting the Sun. The rest of our family
and friends are asteroids and comets floating around the planets orbiting the Sun. The only
celestial body that doesn't orbit August the Sun is Daisy the dog, and that's only because to her
little doggy eyes, August's face doesn't look very different from any other human's face. To
Daisy, all our faces look alike, as flat and pale as the moon.
I'm used to the way this universe works.

She begins with 'August is the Sun' (a metaphor). She then continues to describe other people as planets
as asteroids. This goes on for an entire paragraph and is called an extended metaphor.

Instructions:
Think of an extended metaphor for your family that shows how you feel about them. Write 100 words to
describe and explain it.
For example: My family is a zoo. My father is a gorilla because he's strong and intimidating...

MY EXTENDED METAPHOR
My family is like a bracelet. My Dad is the string holding the family together. My mom is the bead in the
middle who allows everything to be organised and connected. My sister is the one clasp who is always
by my mom’s side and I am on the other side.My two older brothers are the lobster claws always
protecting me from falling down.I am the smallest bead and these are the five people in family who
never will leave my side , let me down or be hurt by anything. They are the five people in my family that I
love a lot. ❤️
