Interpersonal communication

Definition:

The process by which people manage to exchange information, feelings, and

meanings through verbal and non-verbal messages, is what we know as face-to-face
communication. Interpersonal communication is not just about what is actually said,
the language used, but how it is said and the non-verbal messages sent through
tone of voice, facial expressions, gestures, and body language.

Among its most important characteristics it can be said that it is:

Bidirectional: The process flows in several directions. The sender becomes the
receiver and vice versa.

Necessary: It constitutes a key and indispensable element for the development of
individuals and society.

Pleasant: in addition to being necessary and useful, it is a pleasant space that
generates well-being and enjoyment for its participants.

Authentic: It must be based on authenticity and empathy to achieve an adequate

development of the communication process.

It is dynamic: It is not a static process, but it admits transformation, development,
and modification.

It is Variable: its contents are diverse and vary according to the needs of the parties
