Deduction
Lateness Most students attempt conscientiously to meet the
given deadline, and should not be disadvantaged.
However, there must be a ‘good reason’ for late 1–2
assignments. If not deductions will apply
Plagiarism Direct downloads of the entire plan from the net
will receive zero. Financial tables and diagrams
(usually yellow or orange) re-occurring. This can
be easily identified and for minor breaches there 1-2
will be a 1 – 2 mk deduction.
Lack of effort. As students are working in groups of up to 4, there
is no excuse for lack of detail or evidence of
development of the plan. A deduction of 1 – 2 is
appropriate here. Some students may not have
contributed at all. Group solidarity can be tested 1-2
here as the student (s) who have done the work are
penalised under the ‘lack of effort’ criteria and
may be willing to identify the ‘cuckoo in the nest’.
Where students are identified as contributing very
little a reduced mark may be appropriate.
Finance Each group may borrow up to $50,000. This loan
is from Teacher’s Bank at market rates. Failure to
justify ability to repay loan will result in a 1-2
deduction.
Each individual is allowed personal assets of
$10,000.Silver Spooners excepted, who have
$20,000.
Time Significant time will be allocated during class for
the completion of the BP; however, students will
have to work outside the classroom and will need
to develop a group communications network 1-2
Evidence of student input will be contained in the
individual BP Booklet. Limited details will incur a
deduction for the individual student.
The absence of any individual at any time is not
an excuse!
