J. J. Watt raises money for hurricane victims
What: An event will be held for NFL player J. J. Watt, who has raised over $33 million in
efforts to help those affected by hurricane Harvey.
Who: J. J. Watt was born in Waukesha, Wis. He became interested in football, earning him
a scholarship to Central Michigan University. He turned down this scholarship to
attend the University of Wisconsin as a walk-on. In 2011, Watt was drafted into the
NFL as a defensive end for the Houston Texans.
Where: This event will take place at the Hilton University of Houston, located at 4800
Calhoun Rd. Houston, TX 77004.
When: The event is scheduled for Sept. 21, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.
Why: Watt has raised over $33 million for those hit by hurricane Harvey. His money and
efforts will help those affected.
How: Donations will be accepted at the event. Those who wish to attend should contact
the Houston Texans at 832-667-2002. Refreshments will be provided.
