Schottenstein Prize in Cardiovascular Sciences Honoree Announced

The 2017 Jay and Jeanie Schottenstein Prize in Cardiovascular Sciences has been awarded to Helen
Hobbs, MD, of UT Southwestern.

The Schottenstein Prize provides national and international recognition and support to those at the
forefront of cardiovascular sciences. Recipients of the prize are leaders in their field who have made
extraordinary and sustained leadership contributions to improving health care. The Schottenstein
Laureate receives a prestigious honorarium, provided by an endowment from Jay and Jeanie
Schottenstein chartered to the Ohio State University Heart and Vascular Center.

Faculty are invited to attend a special Schottenstein Prize Lectureship presented by Dr. Hobbs. The
lectureship is titled “Atherosclerosis and Fatty Liver Disease: Two Common Disorders Caused by Lipid
Accumulation” and will be on Tuesday, Nov. 14 from 2 – 3 p.m. in the Biomedical Research Tower, room
115.
