THE AUTHORITY RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN TAREKAT QADIRIYAH WA

NAQSYABANDIYAH AND UNITED DEVELOPMENT PARTIES (PPP)

IN CUKIR CENTER OF JOMBANG EAST JAVA

Abstrack

This article elaborates on a relationship between tarekat Qadariyah wa naqsabadiyah

(Cukir Tarekat) with united development parties (PPP) in jombang. Cukir tarekat as a
tarekat who is always involved in political affairs, make it different from tarekat groups in
other places. Since its establishment in 1978, The Tarekat Cukir has tended to choose PPP
as a channel for channeling political aspirations, even though PPP itself is not a promising
party in the future. Therefor, in the 2019 General Election the Tarekat Cukir continued to
support PPP as a means of channeling political aspirations. This matter because of the
missionary endeavor motivation, ideological, historical and cultural similarities.
The paper identifies that dominant cause of the Tarekat Cukir chosing PPP is due to
the to depence of students on their murshid who chose PPP. Meanwhile, the most dominan
motive is due to historical similarities, wehere the Tarekat Cukir was founded by murshid
whose high militancy on PPP.This historical bond is strongly supported by spiritual ties,
which links the murshid teachers who are PPP with tarekat pupils.
The design of this study uses ethnography with the main data collected through
observation, interviews, and documentation.
