History of Science

I find the history of science and how it developed through time and periods so much
interesting. From the very beginning, I have learned that science has been here from the genesis
of time and that science is as old as the world itself. But most of all I have learned about the
scientific revolution that was very innovative and useful as it developed and how it changed
people's perspective towards studying science.

The first period that was tackled is the Rise of Rationalism, here, it was said that reason
and knowledge should be the basis for our opinions and actions and not the religious beliefs or
our emotional responses. The Rise of Rationalism was defined through the different studies of
science: Astronomy, Earth, Sun, Chemistry, Physics, Botany. The next one is the 1st Century BC
which was the growing power of the Romans on Greek Influence, here, different fields of science
like Earth Science, Chemistry, Physics, Astronomy, etc. began to developed. There was also a
statement that said: The Revival of Science in Europe started the Scientific Revolution. In 16th
Century, science helped people be treated from the outbreak that caused many deaths, the
Bubonic Plague. In this period, the discovery of the Earth together with the other planets
orbitting around the sun was occurred. Earth being the center of the universe was rejected. In the
17th Century, more and more and scientists has made a remarkable contribution the field of
science. There were a lot of discoveries like the circulatory system by William Harvey, the
microscopes and microorganisms, and inventions like air pump, barometer, etc. Then the Age of
Enlightment started when the 18th Century came by, scientists began to apply rational thinking
to solve particular problems. Examples were the used of atomic theory and introduction of the
periodic table. Lastly, in 19th Century, research uncover principles that made the universe unite
as a whole and as one.

History of Science was a lot of knowledge and all I can say is I appreciate science even
more. How it developed and grow from time to time was just interesting to know. Indeed,
science has been a helpful buddy not just for people but to every living in the universe.
