Developed Plot – Short Film – “The Window”

The story is based in a suburban area, a middle-aged man works in a 9 to 5 office job. He is
bored of his job and therefore become wrapped into the lives of others that are living a more
intriguing life.

Every day he walks to work on the same route. He passes a house with open bay windows
each day and glances in through the window to the dining room. A young couple live in the
house and each day the man watches them as their relationship slowly breaks down.

The man starts to become more and more interested in their relationship. He starts to stop and
spend some time looking in, trying to work out the context behind the arguments and troubles.

As the man sees them argue, he starts to create alternative endings to the start as his mind
spirals out of control with possible endings to their story.

The final scene shows a resolution to the short, where we discover that the characters are
practicing for a theatre production.
