Upgrading the victor Player application on VideoEdge

Issue
victor Player (included with VideoEdge as part of a clip export) does not launch in Windows 10 version 1903 or 1909. This
issue is caused by an incompatibility between VMWare ThinApp and Windows 10 update 1903/1909

Solution
Upgrade the victor Player application on VideoEdge.
You can download the upgrade package from the American Dynamics website. You can install the upgrade package on
one VideoEdge, or multiple VideoEdges.
 To install the upgrade package on a VideoEdge, see the procedure below.
 To install the upgrade package on multiple VideoEdges, use the VideoEdge Updater tool. You can download the
VideoEdge Updater tool from the American Dynamics website. For more information, refer to Upgrade Options for
victor and VideoEdge.
After you install the upgrade, future clip exports include the upgraded player.
Note: The upgrade procedure does not affect ongoing recording or require a reboot of the server.

Procedure – Updating the victor Player application

1. To download the victor Player upgrade, complete the following steps:
a. Go to the American Dynamics website.
b. From the navigation bar, select Products, and then click Downloads.
c. On the Software Downloads page, click Network Video Recorders, and then click VideoEdge NVR.
d. Download the victor Player upgrade package, nvr-vicPlyrUpgrade-1.0-1.x86_64.zip
e. Unzip the upgrade package, which should include the VideoEdge package nvr-vicPlyrUpgrade-
1.0-1.x86_64.rpm
2. Open a browser and log on to the VideoEdge Administration interface.
Note: To access the Update Software page, you must use the softwareadmin credentials to log on.
3. To upload the victor Player upgrade package, complete the following steps:
Note: Depending on the version of your VideoEdge software, some UI elements may differ.
a. In the Upload New Package area, click Choose File.
b. Navigate to the victor Player upgrade package, select nvr-vicPlyrUpgrade-1.0-1.x86_64.rpm,
and click Open.
c. In the Upload New Package area, click Upload.

4. In the Uploaded Packages area, select the upgrade package, and then click Install.

After the installation is complete, the installation information appears in the Last Upgrade Status area.
