GLOSARIO COMPLETO

ECOSYSTEM: Is a biological system made up of a community of living

organisms. The complex of living organisms, their
physical environment, and all their interrelationships in a particular unit
of space.
An ecosystem is a geographic area where plants, animals, and
other organisms, as well as weather and landscape, work together to
form a bubble of life. Ecosystems contain biotic or living, parts, as well
as abiotic factors, or nonliving parts. Biotic factors include plants,
animals, and other organisms. Abiotic factors
include rocks, temperature, and humidity.
Every factor in an ecosystem depends on every other factor, either
directly or indirectly. A change in the temperature of an ecosystem will
often affect what plants will grow there, for instance.

ENDANGERED: used esp of animals in danger of extinction.

The giant panda is an endangered species.
An endangered species is a species that is very likely to
become extinct in the near future, either worldwide or in a particular
political jurisdiction. Endangered species may be at risk due to factors
such as habitat loss, poaching and invasive species. The International
Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Red List lists the
global conservation status of many species, and various other
agencies assess the status of species within particular areas. Many
nations have laws that protect conservation-reliant species which, for
example, forbid hunting, restrict land development, or create protected
areas. Some endangered species are the target of extensive
conservation efforts such as captive breeding and habitat restoration.
