Activity 4: My Windows and My Compass

My Philosophy of Education

I believe teachers must be passionate on how he/she handles his/her student. As

professionals entrusted with the education of young minds, teachers must facilitate learning
and growth academically, personally, and ethically. Scholastic learning must start with
inspiration and motivation. A teacher understands students how they develop and learn
because not all student is the same of thinking. They are born as a unique individual the same
way in acquiring knowledge, skills and attitude. Regardless of gender, ethnicity, race, ability
and capability every individual especially the children have rights in education.

The good teacher carries the vision and mission of the institution or school in every lesson
he/she teach. Teacher pursue goals and objectives that at the end of the lesson student
understand and attain the knowledge imparted. The ability to connect students experience to
the lesson will encourage and motivate them to learn more.

Teachers are the second parent of the learner; therefore, teacher are also responsible in
teaching discipline while protecting the welfare of every students. Assuring the safety of the
student without violating the law. A good teacher nurture and respect the values, culture, and
beliefs of a student by enhancing the knowledge that student has.

A good teacher is creative in transmitting knowledge which student absorb the ideas. Helps
the student develop self-confident in allowing them to express their self without rejection and
correcting them in a good manner by the teacher. Teacher must be patient in encouraging
student to listen and learn. Showing students that teachers love them and are empathic with
warmth and compassion. A good instructor can passively encourages all learners to engage
and participate in the discussion of the classroom. Students learn from teacher and apply in
real-world situation which has a big impact to their lives and mind that’s why a good teacher
set as a good model. I believed learners will always remember teachers’ good characteristics
until they become professionals.
A teacher must project positivity, demonstrate versatility and trust, set high standards for
him/herself, and show fairness and integrity in order to be a mentor to any student. I believe
all of this things will guide me to become an effective educator in a future.
