1. Replacement of Expansion Jts and Bg Pads of Brs on M-2 was due since its
Rehabilitation and Overlay in the lt of svy / recommendations submitted by M/s
BNA. However, in order to reassesses the present conditions prio to undertaking
the aforesaid works a fresh svy was conducted by Cslt Dte.
2. Out of 29x expansion jts recommended by Cslt Dte for imed replacement 2x
expansion jts (River Soan and Jhelum Brs) have already been replaced. Design
of remaining expansion jts req imed has been standardized (steel jt) which
enable O&M unit for its timely and speedy repair/maint due aval in stock and
delay caused for design approval.
3. Cost of svy carried out by BNA was Rs. 2.220 (Mn) @15,000/- per br (Total = 2 x
74 x 15000 =2,220,000) wheras cost incurred by Cslt Dte amounts to Rs. 1.000
(Mn) thereby a net saving of Rs. 1.220 (Mn) is achieved on svy.
4. Only specialized works like rd marking and expansion jts replacement etc are
being carried out through sublet contractors.
