1 Get a RULER 150 MM (6 IN) - METALLIC.

NOTE: You can also use an MICROMETER - OPTICAL as an alternative to the metal scale.

2 Put the metal scale perpendicular to the surface of the sliding window panel where you see
the maximum depth of crazing.
3 Look at the scale reflection with an angle of vision of 45 deg. to find the apparent depth of
the crazing damage.
4 The correct depth is approximately two times the apparent depth.
5 Where the depth of crazing is minimum, a MAGNIFYING GLASS POWER 10X can be used
as an optical aid.
(2) Inspection of the glass fixed windows (PPG supplier, P/N NP... and SGS (formerly SPS) supplier, P/N
SPS...)

NOTE: "Impaired": in inspection tables the word "impaired" refers to visibility. Visibility is "impaired"
when defects have an effect on visibility. If visibility is "impaired", you must replace the win-
dow panel.

(a) Do an inspection of the glass fixed window for:
