Since its completion in 1963, the iconic Parliament
Building of Malaysia had been through various renovation
PARLIAMENT BUILDING
and upgrading works. After its last modification in 2005,
this 50-year-old heritage building was still haunted with
leakages and other issues.
OF MALAYSIA

The situation forced the government through JKR to make

a comprehensive study to resolve the issue. In 2011, the
Cabinet approved an allocation of RM 520 million for
immediate upgrading and renovation works.
Refurbishments were carried out in phases and phase 3B
was the last to be completed in Mar 2020. The objective is
to ensure that these legacy building remained relevant for
the next 50 years.

This project is unique as it involves the conservation and

refurbishment of an historical building to meet the current
and future needs of our parliamentary institutions.

Weida is proud that our rain harvesting system is now part

of the venerable Parliament Building.

WEIDA RAINWATER HARVESTING SYSTEM IS INSTALLED AT

(MEMBER OF PARLIAMENT BLOCK) LIFT MOTOR LEVEL
The Twin Filter is unique that it can be connected to
2 nos. of DN150 rainwater downpipes connected to
the roof. This reduces the number of components
and overall system complexity, making it more cost
efficient and easier for maintenance.

Together with a properly sized first flush diverter,

harvested rainwater is clean, and free from dried
leaves, twigs including bird droppings.

Harvested water is used mainly for landscape

watering and general washing purposes (non-
potable), in line with the regulations set by KPKT.
HOSPITAL PUTRAJAYA & HOSPITAL SETIU
(GREEN BUILDING PROJECT)

The Ministry of Health had embarked on an admirable Sustainability Program starting in 2015. Amongst others, rainwater
harvesting systems are to be installed at all existing hospitals under Green Building Projects which was kickstarted in 2019.

Today, Weida is honoured that our RainSaver systems are installed at 2 prestigious hospitals namely Hospital Putrajaya and
Hospital Setiu, Terengganu. The purpose is to replace entirely consumption of metered water for landscape and general washing
purposes.

With its excellent performance and cost-effective solution. we are looking forward to equip many more hospitals throughout
Malaysia towards supporting MOH's ambitions to reach its sustainability goals in 2030.
