There are 3 main areas of change in the new version of the ISO 22301 standard.

Terminology
In the new ISO 22301:2019 version, there
has been an adjustment of key Business
Continuity terms to show how experts
around the world use these terms in
practice.
Structure
There are sections in the standard
that are repositioned, merged or
removed so that the required steps
to form and manage Business
Continuity capabilities and steps
required to implement the
management system are
separated accordingly.
Simplification
The new version is a document that is
easier to read and adopt. That is, for
organizations which seek to get
certified, there are fewer ‘shall’
statements.
