Application Task for Prayer and Worship

Instruction:
Based from your real life experiences, make a two paragraph essay citing concrete
ways of integrating prayer and worship in your daily life both in your home and small
community.

Prayer for me does not only refer to us, having our personal connection with God, giving
Him thanks, and asking all that our heart’s desires. It is more than that. Growing up in a
Christian family, I have always been taught to worship God in several ways. At home, it has
become part of our routine that every 8pm, we gather most of the time in our living area, to offer
thanksgiving. In this time of pandemic, I can say that we have never forgotten to thank God for
keeping us safe and for giving us food in our table, knowing that some people today are
struggling and here we are still able to survive. Also, we always attend mass every Sundays via
television or sometimes FB live, since we are not allowed to go out. I have also developed a
habit of praying randomly when I feel like praying. I also make sure to read the Bible or any
other food for the soul every day and we sometimes have a simple sharing of our takeaway
regarding that Bible verse or that specific reading.

I grew up exposed to different activities may it be related to the church or not. I have
always been reminded especially by my mother, to always help others, especially those who are
in need. I was once a volunteer catechist in our purok, and I can say that I enjoy sharing the word
of God especially to the Kids. In our family, it has become a tradition that every Christmas, we
either donate something to some barangay, charity and bahay pag-asa of DSWD or we prepare
small packs of goods and give it to random individuals who we thought are in need of help. In
this time of pandemic, we also took the initiative to donate PPE and hygiene kits to our front
liners in our barangay. I believe that in this simple acts of us, we are able to share Gods presence
and made those people we have helped realize that even in this hard times, God will still provide.
