1. In the story Victor created a life form through science which he ended up regretting. He saw
his creation turn into a monster and fled. The monster decided to go into society since his
creator fled from him. Society rejected the monster, which made the moster furious enough
to kill Victor's loved ones to pay for creating him and abandoning him. Victor then decided to
chase down the monster until his death.
2. In the story you see the topic of nature and technology. Victor wanting to create another life
form has a mix of both. He wants to create life which represents nature but do to him
unnaturally creating it this represents technology. Both Victor and the monster have the
sense of self awareness. Victor is aware that he is creating evil and going crazy throughout
the story but does not take responsibility for his actions. As for the monster, the monster
realizes he is scary and deemed as evil but still acts the way people perceive him by killing
Victor's loved ones.
3. The lesson of the story is to not mess with life’s natural course. There are many stories on
going in time and changing things in the past that tend to have a negative effect in the future.
This is another version of that lesson. Victor messes with the laws of nature by creating an
unnatural being and due to this people begin to get killed. The monster was not meant to be
on the Earth, making him feel isolated and betrayed. With no control of his anger and no one
to teach him the ways of life, negative events began to unravel.
4. The story ties in with the nature vs technology happening in today’s world. Today people are
creating new technology to fit into the fast paced life we live in but do not realize the negative
effects it will create. We are slowly beginning to destroy nature and the earth by machines
giving off pollution and tearing down forest areas. Not only relating to technology, the story
also tells us that EVERYTHING we do has an impact and we should be aware of the
consequences and conclusions of our actions before hand.
