3.2 Patch surface area shall be cleaned from any obstruction such as root, stone,
concrete, dirt, sludge, soil, etc.
3.4 Wetted fibreglass mat is then will be attached to the pneumatic packer.
3.5 The packer will then be inserted into the pipe (i.e. upstream manhole) while CCTV
camera will be inserted from another manhole (i.e. downstream manhole). The
camera will ensure that the packer which carried wetted fibreglass mat is moved to
the correct defect area. Its movements will be controlled by manually pull or push the
rope which had attached to it.
3.7 Inflated air pressure will be maintained at certain duration time (as per recommended
resin curing time by the manufacturer) until the wetted fibreglass is fully cured.
3.8 Once cured, the packer will be deflated and pulled out from the pipe. The curedpatch
liner covers the entire surface of the repaired pipe section without any hydraulic
changes i.e. without obstructing the sewage flow.
