Only the Brave is an action, biography, drama movie directed by Joseph Kosinski. Which

was based on the true story of the Granite Mountain Hotshots, a group of elite firefighters that

are willing to risk it all to protect their town from a wildfire. This movie was released on

October 20, 2017 and has been nominated for three awards. Only the Brave is an inspirering

movie that will captivate you.

In this story we follow a group of young men who are training to become the best

firefighters they can be and we see a young man who is trying to turn his life around go on to

join the group of firefighters. He is a stoner loser who just wants to be better for the sake of his

new daughter and baby momma he wants to be able to help provide for the people he loves.

The Captain is a Buddhist man who struggles with his wife due to her worrying about his job

telling him he needs to retire and spend more time with his family. The captain decides to give

the young man a chance to help get his life together but gives him rules he needs to follow

enable to be a part of the team. The young man goes on to become a meaningful member of

the team showing his worth by being one of the best on the squad.

This story is a great story that illustrates how any man can change as long as you give

them a chance. The young man in the story has been put through many trials throughout the

movie that tests his courage and yet he still finds ways to come out on top without

compromising his integrity or moral beliefs. I do not believe that he would be able to do this

without his support system if it were not for them, I think he would have caved in and went

back to his old ways. It’s like in the movie when they tell him “ It’s not what stands in front of

you, it’s who stands beside you” this quote perfectly illustrates how you can do anything as long

as you have the proper support system. This movie shows you how people can take you for

your flaws and accept you entirely without hesitation.

Only the Brave is a movie that does not have many flaws and the few flaws that you find in the

movie you can forgive. One of the flaws with this movie is that it may at times seem to be

overly dramatic and make the stakes seem higher than they actually are. With in the movie you

can also see some of the dialogue between the characters seem a little unnatural and forced.

This seems to be done simply for the progression of the story and no other reason besides

needing the plot to progress. All of these can be forgiven though simply because the movie is a

true masterpiece.

This movie is one of the greatest movies I have ever seen to this day and it still just

astonishes me every time I get the chance to watch this movie. I do believe this movie will have

something for everybody to love. If you were expecting action, drama, history, suspense this

movie has it. This movie also can shock you with the little bit of love story that’s contained in it

all in all this movie can be regarded as a success no matter what way you look at it.
