The Ben Carson Story

“Gifted Hands: The Ben Carson Story” is a true story movie that revolves on the life of
Bnejamin “Ben” Carson who overcome poverty, racism, and a violent temper to become
a world- renowned Pediatric Neurosurgeon that gives him a great credit in the field of
Medicine.

The movie was quite thrilling because of some scenes where Ben, the protagonist,
need to perform critical operations which will decide the fate of his patients as well as
the patients’ relatives. Because the movie was based from a true story, I thought that I
will not able to predict the outcome of events but the movie was pretty linear when it
comes in plot. Because of its linearity, it doesn’t bring confusion to the viewers which
yields to a comfortable viewing. For me, the movie was filmed and directed well. The role
suits to the casts as if they’re the characters in real life.

Life may not be kind to us sometimes just like what happened to Ben. He didn’t
become successful in an easy way. He almost gave up on some points of his life. But
because he didn’t, he become what person he is now.

We become what we are from the experiences we have gone through. The
struggles aren’t meant just to make us miserable and suffer. Not also to make us quit in
life. Struggles come to our life to strengthen us and prepare us for our future. “Great
power come great responsibility”. So if life doesn’t mold and train you, you will not be
ready for the role that will be given to you in the future. Struggles are just obstacles, there
is a way and there will always be. You just need to find out how to pass those obstacles.
I believe that struggles are given to someone based on his/her capability to withstand
and overcome it. Just like Ben, he almost thought that he can’t do something until
someone in his life keep reminding him that he can. No man can is an island, we need
companions in our life as well as they need us. If someone can’t find the reason or the
solution, others can help to find it.

There’s nothing impossible in this world through God. If you work hard and keep
your faith in Him, you’ll overcome the struggles He had given to you.
