HOYA
Hoya are a genus of plant that are
an epiphytic, blooming and vining
in nature. Hoya are some of my
absolute family of plants. With
anywhere from 200-300 species,
there many verities of all shapes
and sizes and as I have learned,
many of them are quite similar, https://twitter.com/hoyaplants/status/1082633

which makes it hard to identify.
CARE------------------------------------------------------
I have found in my cultivation of hoya that they are quite adept to
growing in household environments. As epiphytic plants, Hoya are
resilient to underwatering. Many species have thick leaves that help
store water. Many of their roots are slow growing and sensitive to
root rot. They prefer smaller pots in a well-draining mix. Avoid
potting hoya in an oversized pot because this can make overwatering
easier and shock the plant. Light wise they like bright indirect light.
They can survive in lower light levels and can even thrive in direct
sunlight depending on the species. As the plant gets higher light
their leaves often will turn red. This is a sign of sun stress but is not
necessarily a bad thing. Often hoya grow the most and more readily
bloom when put under stress. This can take the form of being left
rootbound or given strong highlight. This only will help when you
do this to a healthy and strong plant, if the plant is unhealthy it will
not benefit the plant.

These hoya are very difficult to tell apart, even when flowering they are strikingly similar. Because of
this similarity I am going to lump in their care from my experience with my specific plant in
combination with my research. These hoya are very high light tolerant, this is evident from their fuzzy
leaves. The added fuzz helps reflect some light from the plant. I saw this in my plant, it is out on a
balcony in a southern exposure with tree coverage. It protected from direct afternoon sun, but still gets
enough light to be brightly sun stressed. The sun stress on this plant is shown in dark red edges along
the leaf. The bloo

Hoya Obovata are one of my favorite hoya variety. The large round succulent leaves are quite
attractive. This hoya is a very hardy, I often let the soil dry out completely before giving it a good
